He was right all along. He wanted to keep making popular mainstream music like fallen. Thec band peaked with fallen and fell off hard after the second album.
He is not only responsible for the success of Fallen and Evanescence as a whole which wouldn't exist without him, but he also leveraged Amy's career to what it is now. He departed from the band shortly after the release of Fallen mid-tour in 2004 due to "creative differences" between him and Amy. He co-wrote, composed and produced all of the songs on Fallen. Amy actually hates Fallen for his heavy involvement with it and that's why she only plays like 3 songs from it on the setlist now. My Immortal, Whisper, Everybody's Fool and Haunted are all his songs. Tourniquet is Rocky Gray's song repurposed from his band and Taking Over Me is John Lecompt's, two other members that were kicked out after the fact. All it takes it one listen to Origin/the 1998 EP or his spin off band We Are The Fallen to realize this. Origin mogs Fallen btw.

bless your soul.

the internet felt like random disconnected forums then, i know people say this to death, but it was better. like MySpace became 'the' big social media site, it was fine? go be an emo, but write less than they would on LiveJournal, that's a win-win.

i think it bothers me that 4chan types (and now /pol/) treat this place as special and magic. they have ACTUALLY BECOME the same shit as furries, just with a different coat of paint. (and it's not even special and cool the way it once was, deal w/ it newfrens.)

second anon, yeah.
i mean every generation will be nostalgic towards their teenage years. but what's weird is zoomers/alphas are already 'wahhh the 2000s had something we don't have!' (??? i liked 80s pop music when i was 14, i didn't want to 'be in' the 1980s).

the internet will either get worse, stay the same, or fizzle out. i'm sure academics hated the way the internet went in the 90s and 2000s, but in my experience it hit a really nice sweet spot we took for granted (e.g. it was HTML/visual, but not all social media/videos yet.)

4chan is the like the dying embers of that. like imagine telling someone 'IRC won't be around, in the future', fucking hell.

(and this goes for non-internet stuff too... look at broadcast television, magazines, or how we listen to music.)

>or how we listen to music.
it's insane the billionaires never personally consulted me on if I want a headphone jack or not in my fucking phone. so now if you just want to plug some earbuds in to play some fucking music, you need a seperate device.
now they call mp3players "daps" (digital audio player) as if it's some niche fucking thing that needs a new acronym. and in truth it actually is niche now. the space is inhabited by audiophiles who want wired connections for the sound quality.
I'm in my mid 20s, I'm not even that old but everything is gayer with less soul
