I liked this show, but I didn't like how incompetent the cop guy was. I think it's more funny when characters like that are competent but the main character still runs circles around them.

I stopped watching when I realized I was only getting one laugh an episode. I can watch a YouTube video from a good creator and laugh for 5-10 minutes straight. Not gonna waste 40-50 minutes for one laugh from a poorly written TV show set in on the Central Coast of California but blatantly shot in dreary Vancouver.

Typical USA Network "Characters welcome" detective show, but the leads had great chemistry and it might be the comfiest show ever. The Mentalist straight up ripped it off.

The thing I noticed when I watched it a few years ago is that Shawn is the kind of character you don't see any more, or rather if you did they would be portrayed as a villainous rapist. The whole show has a guy's humor vibe you don't see much any more.
