Super late, I know, but just finished watching it and wanted to share some thoughts about the movie.What I like:1) Inde is the MVP here, there's no argument against it. You can clearly tell when she's possessed and when she's herself. It's such good acting. Johnston is also really underrated.2) I like how they use the environment to portray the scary part. Like when Bear was talking on the phone with Ian, I thought it was just him. But then the silhouette on the window moves, then someone knocks the door, Bear opens, and it's Nikki, implying she was standing at the window stalking him all this time.What I dislike:1) I feel like this "crazy gf" trope could've had so much more potential, but there's so many things that don't make sense. Why did Nikki cook his cat? Why does she scream WHY DON'T YOU LOVE ME!!!!" for no reason during the scene where she's watching Bear sleep? Why does she read a passage of a disgusting story during the party? And what's with the reverse walking and fake run near the end during the scene where Bear keeps telling her to be Nikki?A lot of them barely have anything to do with her being an obsessive gf. It's like they're just putting out random things that feel scary without considering the context. It would make so much more sense if, e.g., Bear is playing with his cat for a bit, possessed Nikki feels jealous, so she kills the cat and lets him eat it.2) A lot of scary parts aren't even scary, they just turn up the volume of the horror movie sound effect to the max to jumpscare you.3) The audio is like Nolan's movies, dialogues are too soft, while the background music or sound effects are too loud.Final verdict: 5/10 rating. Great acting performances by Inde and Johnston, but the plot is ass.

I think it does a great job at capturing gen z's fucked up view of love and how they don't actually know what love is, which is why Bear is such a fuck up and has this ideal image he projects onto Nicky, but doesn't actually care for who she is as a person, as evidenced by him totally ignoring how she needs a change because he knows he's not gonna see her at work, even though if she stayed there, he'd still do nothing about it given he's an impotent little bitch and can't even tell her straight that he likes her, even though she's basically saying to him "I like you and would go on a date with you, JUST ASK ME OUT!". This film deals with themes of bodily autonomy and fucked up relationships, and it nailed it, which is why it became such a phenomena. Most of you motherfuckers in here can't actually discuss that because you're media illiterate and can't talk about films as you have no knowledge of theory and can only think about them after watching videos because other people have done the thinking for you.

This is to signify she viewed Bear as being as close to her as family and being forced to have romantic or sexual feelings for him feels incestuous to her base personality and part of the extreme discomfort with the situation. The movie was solid until the third act, but turning the wish into literal raining cash killed the tension and felt completely comedic, like, to actually land, the ending needed full faustian horror with dark grimoire lore. The one wish willow should've been unique, not something that works for everyone.
