Wow, so JJ Abraham was always bad, right? How on earth did the fans and Hollywood put up with it for so long?
>>222344384His entire career was a Mystery Box plot.
>>222344773i hate him so much
>>222344384Is Crumberblack Humperdink playing the guy on the right?
>>222344384Well, he realized his limitations and basically retired from directing and probably regrets what he did since he doesn't really do much in Hollywood anymore. I think he just took the bait any Jewnerd would if they let you do Star Trek and Star Wars you would too and if your take on SW was seen as really bad and you were hated worldwide then you would probably just give up and try to make your daughter a superstar and smoke weed and have some model suck your dick every day.
>>222344800Yeah Unfortunately.Wrath of Khan was a really good movie, well written for what it is and Montalban makes a really good villainJJ Abrams and Comberbun , Meh -- I could not get through it with it's "Abram's Cinematography, and lens flairs every ten seconds and boring acting and lines. Give me over the top Recardo Montalban spouting Moby Dick quotes in a movie remaking Moby Dick any day over JJ Abrams
For some reason I quite like these Star Trek movies, especially the first one.Star Trek The Motion Picture will always be the best of course.
>>222344800Yes. Leaks came out months before the movie released saying he was khan & jj lied for months saying he wasn't khan then movie came out & surprise he was playing khan
his style was kind of novel at the time. even 'le mystery boxes' was viewed as some sort of considered, modern writing, before people got tired of (and annoyed at) the gimmick. the meme criticism back then was just 'lens flares'.it's like when you watch Kevin Smith's early films, or Joss Whedon's first few shows. they're legitimately solid and i'd say they hold up, but then both writers just KEPT doing the same shit, like a string of copypasted sequels.
>>222344384sorry, i am not a dumb boomer, am i supposed to care about some shitass ancient movie made on two dollar budget where the villain looks like he just grabbed whatever clothes he found in a cabaret closet from 1920?
Zoe Saldana speaking Klingon was so hot as fuck
>>222344384>HowHe's Jewish. He made his career by aping Speilberg and baiting people with Mystery Boxes and everyone just gave him free reign, I think they thought they could bait the masses into genuinely thinking he was the next Spielberg
>>222345230The only problem was Montalban was the classic charismatic dictator. The TOS episode was crammed with this as his style and behavior.Cummerbund was the autistic supergenius, as in his Holmes character, or the guy in No Country for Old Men, which was the badass styling of the times. This is the exact opposite of a charismatic, real-world dictator.
>>222345289>or Joss Whedon's first few shows.Even the chuddiest MCU haters can rarely bring themselves to bash Buffy. Personally I think the fault for quippification lies more with Whedon's imitators than with the man himself, and I view him as a sympathetic tragic figure (especially when you realize that his movement feminist mother basically doomed him from birth).
>>222345587Honestly, it still surprises me that out of all the despicable people in Hollywood, he became one of the few who actually got canceled. After the first Avengers movie, the MCU changed everyone's personalities to make them funnier.Even that damn Thor turned into a clown
>>222344773>>222344384This. On most of his projects (tv) he moved on before the box had to be opened. He started getting in trouble when there was no one to pass the buck onto. The real thing that ended him was his wife using me 2, times up to force warners media to give up 250 million to bad robot. In exchanged they produced very little. In addition they had a bunch of projects that warner canceled allowing bad robot to sell them off making even more money. And like 50 million of it went to writers bad robot essentially sub contracted. Thats what killed his career.
