Let's discuss and talk about one of the greatest shows to ever make it on TV.

Memes and quotes are allowed, but please try to say things about the series too.

NOT THE CUBICLE EVERYTHING BUT THE CUBICLE LIFE

Vic has to know he's under constant surveillance and the second he picked up his gun he's gonna get assassinated by the government. He was only left alive as long as he went along with the white collar deskjob existence they offer, which is hell on Earth for him.

He lost his job and status which were the things that made him feel alive the most, plus all his friends (most of them died in the process) and his family (he didn't even get to say goodbye to his kids)

But yeah anon, since Walter died and Vic didn't, it means that BrBa has a sad ending while Shield has a happy one *cough cough*

Having worked a cubicle jockey job in my 20s and now working a job where my car is my office I can say I’m never going back, they’re going to have to blackmail me with prison like Vic because it is a fate almost worse than death.

HR lady basically told him he cant fuck up or they will fire him and nullify the deal before dumping a bunch of boring busywork on him.

For me, no other show comes close. Maybe The Sopranos and The Wire fit more into the prestige TV category, and I do love those too, but there's something about The Shield that I haven't experienced with any other series. Lost was close, but those two final seasons were weak, although I liked the finale. Anyway, The Shield feels like a very long movie, that sucks you in and gives you a hell of a ride. I'd say the first season might keep away to some, since it's more generic, but it has its own charm and I started to appreciate it more during rewatches. Once the Strike Team go to Mexico, the show becomes extremely fun to watch, and the tragedies hit very deep. My favorite season is the one with Monica Rawling and Antwon Mitchell, personally believe it's better than any from The Wire. I don't think I have to make any commentary on the ending itself, you already know it's masterful.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their women
