Did we get transported back to 2004? That ship has sailed.
>>
>>222349967
We are getting the Grinch 2, also
>>
Why wasn't this done 30 years ago, they could've cast Lauren Holly and Danny Devito
>>
OH BOY

JUST WHAT ALL THE GEN Z AND GEN ALPHA YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR! A MODERN-DAY JETSONS! A SERIES FROM 60 FUCKING YEARS AGO THAT'S STILL SO POPULAR TODAY!

It's called Halloween Is Grinch Night, anon

The only people nostalgic for the fucking Jetsons are like 90 years old, anon.
>>
>>222350501
They're still alive, not everything is about broccoli hair and y2k jeans
>>
>>222350192
Nobody wants to see 70 year old bogged out Jim playing the role of a character who is supposed to be like 35 years younger than he is.
This film should have been made no later than 2010.
>>
>>222349879
A little too late, no? Is he playing the grandpa?
>>
>>222349879
will they keep it accurate to the lore? as in 0% black people?

Ace Ventura and Sonic the Hedgehog star Jim Carrey will front a live-action movie adaptation of The Jetsons.

Warner Bros. confirmed the film today in a letter to shareholders, after previous, unofficial whispers that the project was in the works last fall. At the time, Jurassic World: Dominion director Colin Trevorrow was discussed as helming the space age story, though this is yet to be confirmed.

The Jetsons will mark Carrey's first non-Sonic the Hedgehog movie in over a decade (since 2016's offbeat murder mystery Dark Crimes). Carrey will next reprise his role as Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik in 2027's Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

Masters of the Universe was just bad though. Skeletor was surprisingly well done and really menacing and I really liked a lot of the props and practical effects and even the CG wasn't terrible, but the entire thing was laden with the problems of modernity: pointless isekai bullshit with references to woke work culture, poorly choreographed CG fight scenes, woke recasting like making Man-at-Arms black, every character being a self aware ERM WELL THAT JUST HAPPENED quip machine, the women all being covered up snide girlbosses, the overtly lame and "boy this sure is cringe" 80's stuff like Queen blaring during the finale - it was just a fucking mess and what really bothers me is that they clearly had the means to make it good, but instead it had Marvel syndrome. Leto was ironically enough probably the best part of the movie.
>>
>>222350556
Anon if you were 10 when the Jetsons came out you'd be in your 70's.

Who the fuck does Carrey owe money to?

come on now. If you're gonna post bait make it believable.

I don't even think anyone born after 1995 has even fucking heard of the Jetsons.

It sounds ridiculous, I know, but it's true.
>>

I liked the movie and Leto was actually alright but to me Teela was the best part. It's a well built character.

What we actually need is a Johnny Bravo live action movie, it's going to draw in a whole generation

Manosphere guys who love the idea of Johnny Bravo
Feminists who love seeing him beat up
Milleniboomers who are nostalgic

The Jetsons played in syndication through the 90s, every Gen X knows it and a lot of early millennials do too

I liked the original run Jetsons. Very comfy, analogous to The Flintstones. I don't think it merited a movie and especially not one with washed-up Jim Carey
>>
>>222351850
yea ok they'd be like 40 something now then, nobody gives a shit about dumbass millenials

Better show, Jetsons or Flinstones?

The whole appeal was 60s retrofuture office drone sitcom comfy. A modern movie would just be George screaming at apps and Judy saying "literally" for 90 minutes while Jim Carrey does Ace Ventura faces in a wig.

The way they should go is to make a film that is clearly set in the 60s-future, and is optimistic about technology and society.

If they want to include all kinds of hints or implications that the planet is fucked and the surface of the Earth is a giant garbage dump, that's fine too, it just can't be the main storyline or the point of the film at all.

it was nice the way those old Hanna Barbara cartoons made the cartoon character resemble the voice actor. They did the same with Fred Flintstone.

Flintstones always had a much bigger cultural footprint. It was the Simpsons of its time. Which is why it was used to advertise cigarettes, and why it got movie adaptations a long time ago.

Correct.
No one cared about the Flintstone movies.
Like Dick Tracy. I watched it and I kept wondering why. So dull.

Woah, I can't believe that I never noticed this. But then again, I haven;t seen many episode of the original 1960's series. But even then... the 1985 revival still didn't have any blacks to the best of my knowledge? I can't believe that I saw that fucking movie at the cinema when I was like 10. Yeah, there was a Jetson's: The Movie.

https://youtu.be/-nuo5QfemCE

They were really proud of those CG rotosoped establishing shots back then.

Way to read

The Jetsons were never as popular as the Flintstones and nobody remembers those either
>>
>>222356472
There was also a Jetsons/Flintstones crossover movie where each group gets sent to the other's time

Even as a kid, I always thought Chris from Kenan and Kel would've made a good, live-action George Jetson. Have Danny Devito as Mr. Spacely and it' could've been great.

I grew up with The Jetsons and I don't remember a thing about it apart from the main characters, and George's job is to push a button.
I don't think there are enough people left who care about this property to watch it.

I think The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones was a made for video/ TV movie. The Jetsons movie actually was shown in cinemas.

Mel Brooks (Cosmo Spacely) and George O'Hanlon (GeorgeJetson) last roles.
>>
>>222356431
The Flintstones was the highest grossing movie of 1994, which was a pretty good year for movies.
>>
>>222360877
>Mel Brooks (Cosmo Spacely)

Mel Blanc not Mel Brooks who is still alive at 100 and still jewing.
