I just got back from seeing this in Dolby Cinema at AMC Del Amo 18. Right away I wanna say the format is impressive. The movie looked and sounded amazing. You can really appreciate how it looks like a Sony movie and not an MCU movie. Like it has that bluer tone that Gran Turismo has. The movie itself peaks in the first 5 minutes. The Wolf Like Me montage is the best part of the entire movie. It's all downhill after that. The parts with Punisher were kinda cool. The Hulk scene was kinda cool. The cliche storyline where the government agency turns out to be evil has already been done so many times in Marvel movies. Like you know the black guy from Severance is gonna be evil as soon as he comes on screen. It's all so predictable and repetitive. When Spidey was fighting The Hand at the end it was totally boring because you know Spidey is gonna win and how are these basic humans even given him any trouble. Like bro just kill them so you can move on. Whenever Ned or Zendaya were on screen I was bored. Whenever Aunt May was on screen I was bored. Should have been 40 minutes shorter. Overall I rate it a 5/10
isnt it true that the movie literally does nothing to advance Peter's individual plot? his status quo is completely unchanged at the end of it, correct?
>>222352439Yes.

Too many plotholes. Why was there a grand piano in the back of a mail truck? Why did Punisher talk about making chili and we even see him using a saucepan over a burner but then he's literally eating it out of the can?Why would the Punisher not recognize his own pistol?

The punisher bits were the worst. It’s obvious he was added in after they finished the movie and he represents the worst things about Hollywood superhero slop. Like I doubt Jean Gray was originally written to be taken out by a sniper

It's a mid cape movie. Raimis still mog. I'm glad it was a semi-solo spider-man, a step away from the mcu iron man slop, but you know that will be reverted in the next sequel.
>>222355008Considering what it’s setting up o don’t see any iron man infecting it, but I do see his death at the end of this trilogy unfortunately
>>222354992Sadly I doubt it, because it means you will have to pay Tom/Spidey to put him in the X-Men movies. You also can't develop the relationship between Scott and her with all the emotional package leading to the Phoenix arc. I hope we get at least a scene of Scott being jealous after seeing Peter and Jean being really close, kek.
>>222355008>Raimis still mogIt's way better than the 3rd which is still one of the worst fucking Spider-Man movie.
I just want the actor who plays Ned to get his big budget fat ugly bastard movie. He’s an entertaining presence on screen and deserves every chance to succeed, but we ALL know what it should be
>>222352439Kinda. It was kinda a reset for the character. He's back to being friends with mj and the fat guy, but now he has a fabric suit like everyone wanted from day one and he can shoot organic webs.So its what he should have been in the first place before he was turned into iron man jr by the fucking avengers arc.
>>222352439You can tell this movie went through a ton of re-writes. >The arachnid DNA plot made no sense. It didn't explain anything or add anything other than letting him use organic webbing and then he just turn it off and on for no reason.>Jean is just an evil cunt for no reason. An omega level mutant that is also considered one of the empathetic people is going inside the minds of multiple heroes and never asks any of them to help her, she just threatens everyone and tries to kill people.>Punisher is a much more tragic character than Peter and being inside his mind and Banner didn't make her have a change of heart, even though both of them lost way more and are still good people>They pussied out and everything from the end of the last movie is undone. Ned is back and niggress is obviously going to be his gf again in the next movie. This movie is just more MCU slop that only works if you don't think about it.

>>222354720Is it true the Spiderman will be the character we follow in secret wars? Or was that just baseless rumors
>>222355722It's slop writing and everyone is retarded for the sake of the narrative
>>222355521It adds the inhibitors, specifically the universal inhibitor that Banner was so worried about, which will be used as part of the collars that are used to neuter mutants.Jean is evil because her sister was kidnapped and tortured and they had an abusive mother. Her sister teaches her that people can't be trusted.Jean doesn't change her heart because of Peter's tragedy, she changes her heart because of the love Peter experiences. She gets a mirror that shows her what a loving maternal presence can do and how it can make even those who are "outsiders" feel included and happy and loved. This was always going to happen because it's comic books. This is MCU slop and you were still too dumb to understand most of it.
>>222355898Spiderman is the most popular Marvel character and he is the most financially successful one. It would make sense to put him front and center more, which is exactly why Sony and Disney won't do it and will probably make the lead be a woman, probably a black woman
>>222355898I don't know, but he is in it and Jean too.I think he isn't in Doomsday, so joining the big fight with his pov seems to make sense.

>>222355955You're telling me that Peter created a DNA inhibitor in his apartment because he has a random mutation for no reason other than stress, which is just aping the Raimi SpidermanI get that about Jean. I'm asking why did they make this version of Jean a retarded cunt. Jean is usually portrayed as genius level intellect and a very empathetic person. She can read minds, so she can prove who she can and can't trust. Why didn't she ask Peter or any of the other heroes for help. She had no reason to try to kill MJ. She's the villain that we kept a secret the whole time, but surprise, the actual evil guy was the blatantly evil nigger corporation guy the entire time that we totally know you didn't see coming.

She only knows "if someone knows you're special, they'll hurt you". That's the entirety of her experience from the moment she becomes a mutant. And again, the movie DIRECTLY TELLS YOU THE ISSUE.>C'mon Sarah, what would you do if you had daughters like us?>Love them. And then what gets through to her in the end? Seeing a "mother" find out they had a child like Jean and just love them anyway. You should not be too stupid to understand capeshit and yet, here you are.
>>222354178Jean Grey owes Peter sex
>>222356191>The film literally states out loud "Maybe you're just changing" and then he stays in the organic web state even when at peace with himself.I understand that. My issue is they didn't do anything with this change. Everyone was expecting him to become the man spider and the Punisher would help him, which happened in the cartoon and comics. They didn't do anything with it here. He just "gets over it" and goes super saiyan and then turns it off at the end and that's it.>She only knows "if someone knows you're special, they'll hurt you". That's the entirety of her experience from the moment she becomes a mutant. And again, the movie DIRECTLY TELLS YOU THE ISSUE.Again, I understand it. It still doesn't make sense in the context of the movie. She's not a little kid though and the character isn't supposed to be written as a retardd. She can read minds and she knows Spiderman is a good person, along with Frank and Hulk. I wouldn't really care about her not asking for help if they also didn't write her as a sociopath. She isn't even redeemed at the end. She just leaves after killing lots of people. They are trying to release a solo movie for her in 2028, so I guess they have to make her be some tragic character to have room for that.
>>222352396Would’ve been a better movie if they had just had more of the rogues in it as like a mystery film until they revealed the body hopper. Hulks role should’ve been a new Curt Connor’s & Lizard

She is not strong enough yet and get pulled out by Hulk. She can't handle Punisher's broken mind and just control him like a puppet.>She had no reason to try to kill MJ. >>222356478The issue isn't that the film doesn't do anything with it. The issue is that you're autistic and because the film doesn't do the thing you had in your head, youre having an autistic fit. It's common among autists.>I understand it. You keep proving that you don't.

He makes things worse for Peter despite being there to help during the Hulk scene, and he accidentally shoots Peter, and he doesn’t take down any criminals or kill anyone throughout the whole film. It’s a shame. I was hoping we’d get manspider and he’d be the one to save Peter.

Has Jean Grey ever not been portrayed as a complete bitch and retard?
Movie was fine, good action, inexplicable Hulk regression (before Jean broke him), actually powerful and menacing Hulk, Punisher is as good as we'll get in current year, Jean Grey cute. What really ground my gears was showing up for a 6:30 showing at 6:25, watching some dumb entertainment news, and then at 6:30 begins 30 SOLID MINUTES of commercials and trailers!!!The fucking movie did not actually start until 7pm!! On three separated occasions the screen went completely black, leading you to anticipate the movie starting, only to segue into more car and fast food commercials! Also, trailers for films no one in the audience for Spidey were likely to care about, (plus some low effort looking kids animation.Plus another Fockers movie (really!?!)Fuck you, B&B Theaters.

>>222352439he re establishes all his old relationships (boring), gets a power spike with spider hormones (kinda cool), and is introduced to the future X men Did anyone else find it kind of jarring for Peter to take a bullet for Jean Grey when just a little bit earlier she was bodysnatching people and killing them via getting hit by a car, or a couple others I forgot already
>>222359058Waiting to get my ticket, people ahead of me were buying soder/popcorn combos for $23.I don't think anyone on this board except for a couple of truly planet sized cretins could possibly consoom $23 of corn syrup water and popped corn. >>222359149I mean by movie logic the old guy hit by the car didn't die, and the hundreds of rounds of twin-linked autocannon rounds fired in the chase scene just disappeared harmlessly.
>>222359149I thought it was funny as hell that MJ discovers his coffee shop note, immediately starts guilting him for not reading this to her in the coffee shop for a reuniting, then transitions to telling him that after reading said note, she doesn't have any romantic feelings or memories in any case. Also, did Ned end up remembering him because he's from a Magic Bloodline?
>>222355312He looks like he smells bad and for that reason I dont like when he's on screen.

4 movies in and Peter is STILL not allowed to have his own story without any spillover from some other MCU shittery. These products (that's what they really are, let's be real) are not legitimate Spider-Man movies. They are MCU movies starring Spider-Man, and there's a big difference between those two things. >>222352439kind yeah but also not really. he is spiderbeastmode now, way faster/stronger and has organic webs that are also stronger and more potent. also, the movie sets up spidey to be a part of whatever MCU x-men saga they have planned. peter takes banner's hulk-inhibitor chip and modifies it to be a universal mutation inhibitor to stop his spider DNA from mutating further, then the glowies get their hands on it and will obviously be using it to de-power and imprison mutants in future films featuring x-men. oh also, years pass at the start of the film so spidey is no longer in high school and would be likely mid-20s. oh and new york worships him now, instead of vilifying him like they did for most of the last movie

Jean attacks Damage Control repeatedly, looking for VMAX, and ONLY VMAX. Like, she couldn't mix it up with her sisters name at any point? Didn't even cross her mind? It's flat out stupid that she didn't think to go straight for the head, considering her body jumps give her full access to a persons memories and skills. The only mitigating factor I can think of is that she vastly underestimated how hard this would be for her, and how big of an issue this would spiral into.>>222355521Jean didn't have a change of heart because Peter's a hero, she had a change of heart because Peter finally took May's lesson about being special and having loved ones and shit to heart himself. Punisher's still a crazy loner who lives in a booby trapped boat, and Banner still keeps Hulk in a cage. They also weren't trying to get Jean to have a change of heart either.

>>222352396Worst psrt of this movie is how they made it a point that MJ is the same as before just without memories about peter parker and then they made it a point that she is together with the jeet which is absolutely against her entire character. I rewatched the first 3 movies last week and its absolutely ridiculous that she would go for that guy. Its like they wanted to cuck him for no reason, even if it makes no sense. Also Aunt May is the entire reason everything was fucked up with her moralfag bullshit yet she is portrayed as jesus himself.
Movie should have ended with Jean Grey surrendering herself into custody due to murdering a shitload of people, then the post credits scene is a person in a wheelchair approaching her in prison. Instead this universe has well and truly established that you can be a psychopathic murderer and face no consequences as long as you're a hot chick with childhood trauma.
>>222352439The movie is quite on the nose at one point showing a spider molting video and having characters talk about Peter being a good guy and not needing to hide himself or manipulate his dna. Thats meant to be the theme of the movie but the story does a really, really awful job and seems to forget who are what characters did in the movie or how Peter blacking out and turning violent is fine. The worst thing is jean talking over people and 100% killing multiple people and at one point taking over a guy and getting him intentionally run over. Then at the end of the movie Peter says, “this isn’t you, you aren’t a killer.”The whole movie feels like their was an original plot where jean is dangerous and is evil but then they reshot it and added the punisher. To me it was very obvious the entire movie was reshot and it doesn’t work and the praise the film is getting is weird. I think in retrospect the film will end up being rated worst of the 4 movies

>>222352396Nobody is going to be still defending this shit in six months time. It's the 'Force Awakens' of Spider-Man films, only praised now due to hype and in contrast to the absolute Woke shit they've been beaten over the head with lately. But this movie can't stand on its own two feet in the cold light of day. That's not to say there aren't things in it that you can like. Hell, the 'Not Hoth' salt planet in 'The Last Jedi' didn't bother me in and of itself, (it's actually scientifically plausible to have a planet like that and the red/white contrast was at least visually interesting). 'The Force Awakens' had interesting moments. I thought Daisy's costume was appropriate, fit into the Star Wars universe, Kylo's introduction stopping the blaster fire mid-air was promising, and the beachball droid could have worked, etc. Still a shitty movie. So you don't have to hate every aspect of this film to admit Mauler is right:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5nfJdsg9MwPraising Sony's shit is just going to get you more poorly thought-out non-stories with perfunctory emotional beats. Imperfect as it was, 'No Way Home' had actual emotional beats and heroic themes, but this film only has a weak simulation of them that require the audiences stupidity to buy into. Just like you had to buy into the hype and bullshit of 'The Force Awakens' to think you were watching a real 'Star Wars' movie worth a damn.

>>222354353It's not 'capeshit fatigue' my friend. It TRULY is 'bad movie fatigue'.Think about it, the fact that so many fags went to see this day one tells you there's still no shortage of demand, and you know it's POSSIBLE to write good capeshit. People came looking for it in the last place they got it, ('No Way Home'). Some of those people are deluding themselves they DID actually get what they were looking for, but they're going to wake up to reality sooner or later, and then we'll see how many rush to the next one.The dialogue was absolute dreck. You're being told that something emotional just happened, and you're expected to take it as read, or fill in the blanks. It has long been an issue with Zoomshit 'modern' CW-level writing. This is not the worst example, but it's bad.Anyone who truly understands the origin of the term 'Mary Sue' knows it's not just the 'impossibly skilled female self-insert that everybody inexplicably loves' that's the real underlying problem, that's just symptomatic. The real problem is that shitty writing is all the same. The original Mary Sue article was a parody of bad Trek fanfic submissions by non-writers and the uncanny similarities.Basically if you pulled random unqualified people off the street and got them to write a story, (which is basically what DEI does IRL), you'd quickly notice the same recurring patterns/themes. It's an old-as-dirt observation that if you got a bus driver to write a story, the hero would very likely be a bus driver and the story would happen in a bus depot. So what do you think happens when you get a feminist activist to write a story? You get the same old (bad) amateur shit. Even though in their case they DO conspire, there's actually no conspiracy required to be all the same shit. The pattern here is a distracting lack of logical connective tissue and perfunctory emotional beats. You ACTUALLY felt it when Garfield saved Zendaya last time. You were SUPPOSED to feel shit this time but didn't.

>>222355521Sorry bro but you literally missed the point. Jean didn't turn face because she saw peter had a sob story. She did it because of aunt mays speech. That you being a freak just inherently means that people will try to persecute you. Also (someone) will be there for you. She connects the dots because peter is just like her, lost someone unfairly, but instead of either being a revenged marauder (punisher) or an unhinged nihilist (jean) he chooses just to help people, save people, and show mercy towards persecutors while still stopping them. He also reaches out and forgives enemies (jean grey). So if he can forgive her and try to help her, try to pull HER out of her rut why can't she do the same for damage control? provided they actually try to change? It was everything taught by the last movie TO PETER by aunt may (and the other spider men) and now HE was the one implementing that himself. This movie wasn't his training arc it was his test arc. Its jeans training arc. Last movie peter was the apprentice, now hes the master.
How are they going to deal with the fact that Tom is pushing 31 playing a 22 year old? He'll be 35 or so when the next film releases

>>222353223producers already said no miles till peters dead. sorry you'll have to keep your cock caged another 5 years at least :)
So is punisher just allowed to go around punishing people now? Because in DD S2 and S1 of his own show he was constantly in hiding because he was a wanted man.
The first three Spiderman flicks are basically in short "Peter finally grows up and actually realizes what being a super hero means beyond heroic idealism." with the end of No Way Home basically setting up the traditional status quo of Spidey struggling between being a hero and just Peter Parker; the three films are like a very, VERY extended set-up character introduction. So what actually happens in this movie? >>222352439 asks a valid question. Because this film logically should be THE film to set up the rest of Spiderman's life:>Working at the buggle/as a photographer>His love life to MJ Wattson which is nigh divine/once in a century in nature>Rest of his traditional rogues, namely Venom>His key friendships with other New York based supers like Daredevil or F4However they've taken some pretty big liberties in their vision of the spider mythos, for lack of a better term which in turn means characters like Ned or Zendaya's MJ are here to stay no matter what...

>>222369326nta but that's not what he's saying, he is saying that Jean was able to stop herself from killing Metzger because she saw Aunt May in Peter's mind and realized he lost her and how it was all his fault. Punisher lost his wife and 2 kids because of an old friend of his he trusted, how did seeing that have no effect on Jean and instead we just get a comedic "this guys got issues" line? Hulk is a main avenger btw people would have loved to see a scene on what's actually going on inside Hulk's mind, we haven't gotten a movie and this would have been great chance to learn more about Hulk and his son and how Bruce feels about that.
>>222355521>An omega level mutant that is also considered one of the empathetic peoplePfffffthahahahahahhahahahahaa, read a book, Jean is a fucking cunt.
>>222369467>Punisher lost his wife and 2 kids because of an old friend of his he trustedis that really the MCU backstory for punisher? his whole motivation is (supposed to be) that his family was killed by random, senseless street violence. that's why he wants to kill all street level criminals indiscriminately.
>>222367792He didn't know he was going to fight the Hulk when he went to go help Peter. He went to go shoot some girl. Peter didn't even know Hulk was there until he saw him.
>>222369382What do you mean how? For starters, he didn’t stop the tank. He got stopped effortlessly by spidey, and if he did stop the tank, he would have been executing an innocent woman because in the film he just shoots first and asks no questions. He also completely blundered the hulk fight which was going fine until he showed up. He did nothing to hulk but piss him off, and his presence in that fight allowed Jean to take control of him and almost kill the department of defence guys. Spidey had to come in last minute to save the day. That’s not to mention that spidey explicitly warned him about getting too close. He put no resistance. He got mind controlled instantly. He also spends the entire film killing no criminals and when he finally does hit someone with a lethal bullet, it ends up being Spider-Man. The irony of this is that spidey spent the entire film consistently asking him to stop trying to kill people. At the end of it all he forces Spider-Man to reveal his identity to him because of his blunder, and has to make a fool of himself in the hospital to make it up to him. He was incompetent throughout the entire film.

>>222368380Yeah, that was the one part of the film I had trouble with. The tonal whiplash of Frank being able to not only move around Manhattan with a full arsenal, but walking around cops. In DD S2 he exclusively killed a bunch of mob bosses and their underlings and the police had to do a citywide manhunt to stop him.
>>222369467Why would it have any effect on Jean when it's just more evidence that the way she thinks is correct? Someone with special skills trusted someone and as a result lost their family. It's a frequent part of Punisher's story. >He has to make a fool of himselfIt was his plan and we see him having fun doing it. Peter is the first person in Frank's life that isn't rooted in Frank's trauma. He gets to sit around teasing him and joking and laughing like a normal person. This is a good thing. It's good characterisation. And his plan at the end works, for the cherry on the cake.

It was a long ride of a movie that avoided feeling long most of the time. It did all the characters justice, the regression of Bruce Banner/Hulk was very well done.Jean being a relatively amoral, selfish person heedless of consequences (ie a teenager) was pretty good imo. This is why mutants would be dreaded, give a tween/teenager phenomenal cosmic power and they are going to do stupid, dangerous shit with it non-stop. They just are. Most of them are going to lack the incredibly wise and understanding adult that Peter has.(the scenes with May hit pretty hard, though of course everyone wishes it was the mind-Ghost of Ben). I still like MJ and Ned. Glad we didn't need some backstory for Scorpion.JJJ was missed, but he's getting soooo up in years, his sticky will be epic. I think Jameson is practically un-recastable.Spider-Man as a character is the perfect balance of wild superhuman powers and human vulnerability that is missing from both Superman and Batman. His look is also ultra-iconic, he probably sets the bar too high for other superhero movies, especially if 2 billies becomes his regular.8.5/10 movie, will see in theaters again.

In the very original run of X-Men, as I said she was one of the weaker members of the team, she had TK and Telepathy but the scope was very limited and she was clumsy. It was Chris Claremont run which finally shot the X-Men into star power and Claremont tweaking Jean's character with the Omega class powers (which Xavier restrained in her youth). Pardon the yap, but I do think writing character with TK/TP powers is difficult because they can pretty much always logically solve most if any problems the plot has, no? Especially someone like Jean Grey who at the peak of her powers (even without the phoenix force) is capable of basically mindcontrolling the entire planet and has TK on a molecule level or some such shit.I mean, look at X3, at the end that Jean hasn't nearly as much damage, and Logan still kills her just to make sure the world is safe.
>>222371291I think the general consensus, which I agree with too, is Daredevil/Fisk.
>>222371491She's a telepath with a 33 foot range to her jumps. If she wants to possess someone 100 feet away, she needs 3 people between her and that person to chain her telepathic jumps to her. She's not even telekinetic when the film begins.
The funniest part of the movie is the fact he eats Little Caesars pizzaNew Yorkers would kill a guy for doing that
>>222371491She has roughly a 30ish foot limit on her abilities, two people are already shown to either ignore her possession (Spidey) or break it (Hulk, naturally). She only uses (crazy amounts) of TK at the very end, under incredible duress and technological influence. She seems to be at a pretty good power level for a team book without being stupidly "My Powers don't work under these conditions".And she's not a genius about using her abilities, which is a plus.
>>222371547That perfect way to show how depressed he is.
>>222371547NYers are pizza-snobs, Pete's gotta eat cheap after blowing it all on computer monitors and electronics.
>>222368408It's just another bait-and-switch for classic fans, like Lara Croft getting her twin pistols at the end, but then using the stupid fucking Hunger Games bow and arrow again like that never happened, so you never get real Lara, it's just a perpetual cocktease.Though I'm also cynical enough to see that they left the Zendaya shit ambiguous enough that Sony's negotiations with the actors would be easier next time - just like the last film.ie. If the increasingly expensive cunt wants too much money, it's easier to write her out.Because this made money and faggots are praising it, she's likely going to get paid for another film, increasing the production cost, with her and Holland making typical faggot actor demands that negatively affect the quality further, and help kill the franchise - for Holland at least. It's like, do you think RDJ is playing Dr. Doom for any kind of valid artistic reason? That boneheaded decision is obviously because the studio fucked the MCU up - again for retarded non-artistic reasons, (feminist/woke shit), and went crawling back thinking he can fix it and make them money again. But he's too expensive AND makes stupid demands like not wanting to play Stark again, (because he wants to do 'real' acting, like all these faggots), so they had to offer him some kind of 'variety' so he could feel better about himself and his career. It's never enough for these faggot actor arseholes to play a beloved character and get more money than Tony Stark himself. They all have a desperate desire to think they're Laurence fucking Olivier too once they get it.Gives me a lot of respect for actors who can just embrace a popular character and their good fucking fortune, like Peter Falk and Columbo. But chances are if he played a capeshit character he'd have had some special kind of problem with that due to pressure from his actor mates who wouldn't consider it 'real' acting, like there's any fucking difference.
>>222371584Lol.
>>222371626>It's like, do you think RDJ is playing Dr. Doom for any kind of valid artistic reason?RDjr has more than earned the benefit of the doubt here.>(feminist/woke shit)Now I am sorry I even replied.
I wish they would kill that half-cast Muttzaya and that fat geeky SEA monkey and replace them with Harry and Jean
>>222371169Actually, in the vein of your example, there were multiple times when he was speaking with the black police chief that he put on an over-the-top New Yorker accent. I wondered at the time whether he was doing it to try and hide his identity but it’s never when he’s speaking to her in other scenes, just these ones. It makes me wonder whether they had originally intended him to have the accent and axed it or if they didn’t notice the accent was that bad and left it in.>>222371228I liked the movie anon, I don’t suck a movie’s dick just because I like things in it. There was a lot that could have been improved, I think that about some of the greatest films ever made. This board seriously needs to return to sanity.
>>222371626Zendaya would have to get horrendously expensive in a backup girlfriend role to get pushed out of a franchise that has repeatedly pulled a billion dollars opening week. And the publicity from the role is worth a lot more than $$ to her career, she can always get paid to piss you off in other movies.
>>222371544>>222371582I'm not gonna lie lads, though on paper that sounds like it makes sense at first glance; my guts tells me it's retarded. Maybe I just have too much capeshit fatigue.I guess a simple stress test is in order. Could she have basically solved the main plot of the film (finding about her sister) by simply mand whacking the glow nigger chief? Because if the answer is yes, we got ourselves a problem.>>222371626Yeah... I thought as much.
>>222371715There were times (like on the phone) where he is clearly affecting an OUTRAGEOUS Yorker accent to conceal his real voice, he's done that in some of the other movies, when he's regularly dealing with people he might meet as Peter in real life.
>>222371667No one ever earns the benefit of the doubt. When will you people learn this, how many times do you have to go through the same song and dance before you get it
>>222368408Do you really need you really need to see the traditional spidey stuff? It's the 9th Peter Parker movie and the 11th Spider-man movie. Do you need to see him working as a photographer? Like he's been a teacher, a scientist, and a ceo in the comics. You may not like it but the character has indeed grown. He shouldn't be pretty much locked in amber for the rest of his existence.
>>222371721She only gets like a second of exposure to the main bad guy before she's neutralized. He's usually holed up in a building that you have to pass through metahuman scanners to enter.
>>222371755>No one ever earns the benefit of the doubt.Until Downey fails to entertain the shit out of me in a Marvel flick, I give him that benefit.
>>222371582>She has roughly a 30ish foot limit on her abilitiesAre Americunts even aware that in metric 33 feet is pretty much exactly 10 metres and how retardedly convenient that distance sounds to the rest of the planet?
>>222371740Funnily enough “OUTRAGEOUS” was exactly what I had typed —caps and all— before replacing it with “over-the-top” lol. That makes sense, it’s kind of what I thought at first. It was so odd though here because he talks to her in person just fine. I guess they didn’t want to ruin the tension of him sounding goofy with a thick accent in dramatic scenes, or perhaps it’s to show Peter is still rather dull when it comes to matters of deception as he forgets to apply it when in the flesh.
>>222371721It's literally the exact same thing you specifically requested they do. Genuinely what the fuck is wrong with you?
>>222371827Posts made months before disaster
>>222371838He was doing that same voice as Spider-Man to Ned and MJ in the previous films too, it's his consistent "I AM NOT PETER PARKER" voice.>>222371832>Do Americans care about this European system...You already know the answer to this question
>>222371879Maybe so, maybe so. But I stand by it. I'm not going to be a Negative Nancy all year about it.
>>222371887Well I guess the real question is did they notice the specific distance her psychic powers can travel is the exact same distance of an old Bluetooth headset? Is that why they're called the 'uncanny' X-Men?
>>222371764Actually, yes. And not just yes, but fuck yes. It is the core of his character. All those things you mention come only after a long and very eventful career and events which shape Peter as Spiderman. All of these events as far as I can tell have been subverted. The critique of us having to endure "Spider-boy" instead "Spiderman" are IMO very valid, and if this flick isn't adressing that, I'm not just not interested. And neither is a bunch of other people.>But it made over a billionCall me cynical, but I predict there is gonna be the Force Awakens effect, another anon touched upon in this thread already. Its diminishing returns.
>>222371832Literally none of us care. We don’t even care about your seething, amusing as it is. I am going to forget you ever even existed after I press post.

>>222371939Heh
>>222372004See, I can appreciate the first 2 Hellboy movies AND the Hellboy comics lore simultaneously, I guess I have more balanced brain chemistry.
>>222371297You did it again retard. Your reading comprehension is horrendous.
>>222371967>and a ceo in the comics.Fun fact: those were part of Brand New Day era which this movie gleefully ignores, just like the titular so-called classic villain. Tells you how much it matters even for the people batting for these cancerous growths. Now jump off a fucking bridge already Feige, holy shit, yes, I want to see traditional Spider-Man stuff.
>>222371967Where would you put the job in this movie?I mean it seems you're upset that it's not purely comic book Peter Parker (who hasn't even been a photographer in like two decades) but where would you put that? Plus they are evolving the character so it doesn't need a whole get together with MJ arc like each of the Raimi ones did
>>222370790Wrong. She never has a russian accent. How come you're really stupid and really worthless?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OT2b5KzMoC0
>>222371973It's symptomatic of shitty writing. Instead of changing it up even slightly, they just use ten metres or have some retarded justification in their own mind, like Zoomers will find that distance 'relatable' because they use Bluetooth or whatever. When the end result is mentally distracting to anyone trying to just watch a film about some bitch with psychic powers being experimented on where they go out of their way to use 'teh science' to determine her effective range and don't wind up with some less-rounded number as you'd expect.Just one example of what nobody in the audience's brain should be doing instead of watching the film, along with asking questions like, "Why doesn't this dumb bitch just mentally possess the literal glownigger and find out where her sister is?"This kind of shit compounds and compounds until it takes you out of the film completely, unless you're a total tard, which is why you need your film to not violate logic entirely. Good writers maintain some semblance of verisimilitude by not being total retards writing shit that only other retards can enjoy.
>>222372121Make it your life's goal to grow up, leave home and DIRECT the Spider-Man movie you want to see then!
>>222372099Your concession was sufficient Lewis.
>>222371028>JJJ was missed,I dont remember him from any of the MCU movies.
>>222367713I thought it was beyond mediocre. Jean makes for a terrible villain. Most of the action sucked, punisher was dickless (and I love burnthal), hulk was just a tool to make jean more fun in action. The drama with his friends not knowing him was lame. Can't believe some people said it was better than no way home, the question is if its even as good as the 2nd movie. Also ill say it again, scorpion should helm his own movie with a powerboost, make him the modern Doc Ock

It's not entertaining, and you ARE here to entertain me.
>>222372121Brand New Day in the comics was just establishing the status quo more than anything but you can't do that in movie
>>222372150I cannot imagine your life. One where you're too stupid to understand capeshit and think that a normal piece of information everyone carries with them is the distance in feet that a bluetooth connection can be maintained lmao. For the record, there's literally one moment that she can get into the glowie head and it's AFTER she knows what happened to her sister.
>>222352396Off to a good start.
>>222372238It's basically impossible for her to possess anyone even close to him and not know who he is or which direction to look. >>222372018Funnily enough. Take those three films and Spidey's appearances in other MCU flicks and change just a few key details to be more comic accurate and I can tell you there probaly would have been a flawless MCU Spidey.>>222372018That is fair. The Milla Jovovitch RE movies for example are pure insanity. But I find them entertaining.>>222372132I don't give a shit. "Evolving the character" only works if>We've seen the classic stuff in this iteration.>Adding up to the canon is actually well done. That's the shitty excuse of deconstructing everything, subverting everything and not only that doing it in an extremely shitty way (which MCU has a massive track record of)
>>222371715Even the chief's accent was inconsistent. Sometimes it would sound new yorkery and sometimes it would sound puerto ricany. I hated her character. Has the NYPD ever had a female police chief? LA hasnt.

Why don't you just use your famous powers of deduction instead? It's elementary my Dear Watson, and the reader will be left to figure out why I would do such a thing under the assumption that I'm very smart and such a deviation from the obvious makes perfect sense somehow. There is so much material from decades it's un-fucking-real.Your logic is what got Spiderman 3 stuffed full of bullshit because they couldn't just stick to one concept knowing they had Venom and the rest of the shit for later.A great example of a Spiderman story you can shove anywhere is Spiderman visiting a kid fan one night and revealing his secret identity after the kid promises not to reveal it as long as he lives. Then you see Spiderman is leaving a kid's cancer hospital. If you did that live action you could put it in any Spiderman film, any era, any Spiderman actor, and not have a dry eye in the house.I'm actually shocked they've never done it because it's such a no-brainer, can be used for exposition, etc. There's no end of material like this.

>>222372865there are good camrips out there, it's a fun watch and easily the best mcu spidey movie. it's not iron man 1 level good but it's clearly the best thing they've made in a while. About the same level as tobey's 3rd movie minus the fact that it isn't as funny
>New York in shambles after Jean's awakening>only Spider-Man and Punisher up to save the day>other heroes? SleepingIt's as funny as the Eternals. An entire Celestial being appearing and barely any reactions.Brand New Day somehow feels more MCU than No Way Home.Like let's say you're a movie Spidey enjoyer, you're only reference is Scorpion.>but TombstoneMost people (who don't even read comics) didn't even know about bro before that Spider-Man PS5 game.Jean Grey also feels like a better MJ than actual Zendaya MJ.It'll get high ratings but if this shit was about another hero like Blue Beetle, Iron Fist or whatever lmaoooo
>>222373005They also don't know it's timeless shit like this that made Spiderman and Parker so popular for so long. It's not the origin story, it's who the character is.As was observed long ago, you don't need to see Bruce Wayne's parents die every movie. That just holds you back from getting to the meat of the character, the really good shit. But like Batman his character is rooted in that origin story and not some faggot 'modern' version nobody cares about where all the redheads are turned black and have some racial chip on their shoulder or some other stupid bullshit. One of the reasons you're being retold the same story is for dumb reasons like that. It's not 'capeshit fatigue', it's 'black fatigue', 'feminism fatigue', 'woke fatigue', etc. This is what they took from you.

>>222373125That was the alien shapeshifter. We find out in the post credit scene that Fury had been living in space ever since Thanos, and has used a Skrull to mask as himself.
