“One day, he was having an episode and thought that I shouldn’t be spitting tobacco on the tank,” Eastwood recalled during an appearance on the August 3 episode of Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. “Which was in the script.”The 40-year-old actor felt like “enough’s enough” and confronted LaBeouf.“I said, ‘Hey, f--- you.’ Said, ‘Stop pulling your s---. I’m gonna whoop your ass,’” Eastwood said on Monday’s podcast episode. The “tense moment” was broken up by costar Brad Pitt. (Pitt previously discussed the incident during a 2014 interview with British GQ, praising LaBeouf’s acting and admitting he was in the wrong for being “pissed off” at Eastwood for following the script’s direction.)
Scott, 40, said there was a “legendary story” about how Clint handled Kevin Costner while they were filming 1993’s A Perfect World. “I’m sort of going to paraphrase it, and I’ll probably tell it a little wrong. But Kevin Costner — sort of going through, maybe, the Kevin Costner rise to fame — and maybe got a big ego,” he said. “They were doing A Perfect World. And they’re both starring in this movie. My dad is directing it. Apparently, Kevin wouldn’t come out of his trailer for some reason.” According to Scott, when Costner was unwilling to come out of his trailer, Clint decided, “We’ll just send him home then.” Despite the fact they were filming a scene Costner was supposed to be in, he said the message was relayed that he was no longer needed for the scene.“He said, ‘What do you mean? I’m in the scene’ [And the crew said], ‘Well, I guess you’re not anymore,’ ” Scott shared, adding, “And so I think the next day he was on set ready to go.”
