Did anyone else pursue a government job because of a vision of being out all hours pursuing a case with an assigned earnest work-wife who never tried to become a real wife, and never question where you got that expectation until decades too late?
>>222365255Its supposed to say 'pursuing a cause'. not a case, because that would obviously be specific to investigators. whereas this expectation spread out in the unconscious to apply to any kind of government work. 'pursuing a task', even. just two earnest people who care about doing the job properly more than they care about it being 10pm because they don't have lives outside the job.
