Not really, the entirety of the series is about Hank getting put into situations out of his comfort zone and using his "old fashioned" skills and mindset to solve "modern" problems. Sure he's close minded but that comes from his terrible father figures and troubled upbringing. Hes quick to judge but he generally finds the best in people once he gets to know them. His 2 favorite things seem to be propane and helping other people find their own propane. Hes genuinely a good person at heart.
