So this one bald soijak made an interesting video about how the general consensus that the shark from Jaws malfunctioning is what forced Spielberg to use less of it on screen and how that made the film better, is actually not true. In actuality, if you go though the production materials, the animatronic shark was never meant to be shown much more than it is in the finished film. Instead, the malfunctioning animatronics gave Spielberg and the writers time to punch up the script and shoot additional, non-shark related footage, ultimately improving the film.

Jaws makes 70s era Martha’s Vineyard look incredible. Even cheap horror movies from back then like Friday the 13th make the forest foliage and lake look beautiful because it was captured on now vintage film stock.
