Is this good? I hate women btw
It's ok>too much Ridley filter>it says the women's story is the true one>it has a shitty half helmet
>>222374430You forgot that Adam Driver is in it. He can't act and is ugly as sin.
>>222374254Me too movie set in medieval times. Real life guy proclaimed his innocence to the end, movie version is shown to do it even in his version of events because he thought she loved him.Jodie doesn't get naked.
>>222374254the most intriguing story of medieval times of whodunit gets told as if the rape actually happenedWhy is Scott such a cuck??
>>222374731He was genuinely guilty of rape. Le Gris claimed he did not have time to make the journey and back in the accused time frame, multiple men local to the area proved that wasn't true. The number one witness in Le Gris's favor was later accused of rape (and convicted iirc). Le Gris own lawyer wrote later in memoirs he believed Le Gris was guilty due to inconsistencies in alibi, and multiple changes to his account over time. He's also the one who initially asked for a trial by combat, believing the court would find him guilty. He had a reputation for philandering/womanizing.
>>222374254Rashomon for white millenials
>>222374901This. Pretty much every contemporary account of the case condemns him, the only reason Le Gris was ever defended was because of his wealth and public status.
>>222374254snore fest
she voted for it
>>222374254It's the only feminist movie I've ever seen that I liked. The feminist bend made far more sense considering the medieval setting than it typically does in productions set in modern times. The main actress's performance was truly phenomenal. You had all these male A-listers starring along side her, but she completely stole the show. The rape scene was good. The duel itself was fantastic. The one thing about it that pissed me off to no end is that the movie explicitly told the audience that the woman's version of the story was the truth. You cannot separate this movie from its cultural context. It came out on the coattails of the metoo era, which was characterized by mass hysteria and which hunts of men based on nothing more than women's accusations, many of which were false. The prevalent progressive belief of that era was that women's word is gold and worth as much as a conviction beyond reasonable doubt. To then make a movie that plays into this narrative I found to be grossly tone deaf. The movie should have enough conviction in its storytelling to not have spell this shit out for the audience, because god forbid they may not think that the woman is the only 100% honest actor, and that would be heresy in progressive orthodoxy. But this is just a minor thing. As I said, I enjoyed the movie overall and I would recommend it.
>>222374254Damon and Afflecks roles role were wasted on them. Making Margarettes story "the truth" defeats the whole point of the Rashomon aspect.
>>222374254It was pretty good, and the duel was kino. Just ignore the cringe «the truth» slide and you’ll enjoy it.
>>222375835Her story was "the truth" because it was proven in combat.
Any good pictures of the swords and shields from the film or extras like they did from Kingdom of Heaven film??
>>222375881Also the ending slides that lie that Matt Damon died soon after to spin the female empowerment angle. IRL they had 5 more kids.
Really good. if the old man didn't insert "the truth" just to please the feminism wave would have been top tier. Instead should have explore more that her story may be because she is not into her hubby that much and her family side trying to restore name and lands.Hollywood is just scare of making open ending movies.
>>222374901He never admitted to it, chud. Imagine condemning a man because it's possible he could have gotten there within a certain amount of time.
>Jean is an asshole with a victim complex>Gris is a delusional rapist sociopath>Marguerite is a kind woman who is abused constantly by men of all sorts and her POV is the correct oneThis was the first sign of Ridley’s woke downfall, there is not a single admirable male character in this movie, Ridley’s irrational Anglo’s hatred of all things French and Christian is on full display of courseHow did this man make Gladiator
>>222374458he can act and he's weirdly attractive
it’s hilariously bad. looks like a PS1 cinematic. https://youtu.be/R6vk9A7Ymf8matt “theo vonn” damon
don't be gaslit by propaganda pushers, pic related is all that needs to be said on it
>>222376826Best part is when Strong Powerful Woman chews out her husband in front of the barons like it's 2021.
>>222376179It's a shame The Last Duel did not the same amount of extra's the four disc directors cut version of Kingdom of Heaven or the Gladiator film ?
>>222376774He can act and he's ugly. He's like an anti Keanu.
