With the use of his glass candle, Daeron, the Archmaester, and his uncanny band of acolytes would uncover the grand maester conspiracy that killed Aemma Arryn, paired Alicent Hightower with a grieving Viserys, and plotted to destroy House Targaryen via civil war. Daeron the Daring would ride out on Tessarion not to wage war, but to attempt to heal the rift between Aegon and Rhaenyra for the Greater Cause, and to cast out the Grey Rats, root and stem. He would tragically be killed in Season 3 before he can stop what was plotted.
