That face change was the first nail because it took away from what an older experienced Spider-Man might look like. They made him look like Tom Holland and were too bitch made to admit it. Then the sequel had so many references to the MCU (which I don't watch) and Miles has so little going on in the comics that they reference the Spiderverse movies (which I also don't watch). I wanted the series to be a last bastion of hope for someone who's been reading Spidey simce he was a kid and is dis-satisfied with how things are lately. I liked The Batman and Garfield's Spiderman movies but that never led to myself being able to say I like Batman or I like Spiderman. The characters are so different based on story and adaptation etc that they don't even always have in common that their parents died or were bitten by spiders or whatever. Not only that but the approach and the art and atmosphere and things like that are always going to differ so I can't understand someone being a fan of a specific superhero. I tried to read The Court of Owls at some point and I just couldn't give a shit about it.I guess I'm 30 so it's a good thing that comic books don't attract me.
