While I like the movie, there's some massive flaws that I can't overlook
The reddit humor is very real. You never feel the character is in danger or afraid at any point because of it.
The scenes with least amount of jokes, is precisely the scene when Rocky saves the ship, and you do feel like Rocky is in danger, proving my point.
But I can stomach the constant jokes if I think this is a movie for 12 years olds (and it is)
Another thing that bugs me:
There's like SEVEN SCENES of Gosling crying, holy fucking shit
It's like they wanted to contrast the constant jokes with emotional moments, over and over
The CGI espectacle feels mundane at this day an age we don't need 2 minutes of VFX particles and cloud physics but I guess you can't help it on this type of movie
I loved the ending and to me, a good ending saves a bad movie and a bad ending tanks a good movie.
This was a meh movie, saved by it's good ending.

His unwillingness to go back home also implies he's scared of finding out just how fucked Earth is.
