I do prefer RE3 sometimes, but I can't deny that the first film is very tightly constructed. 3 has a lot of the same meandering pacing issues as Razorback and Highlander and The Shadow and every other Russell Mulcahy movie. The only good part of 3 is the "boss fight." 5 and 6 are irredeemable garbage. I think I like 4 more than most people because it came out at the right time when I was a teenager and it was one of the only dvds we had. It's such a fun and stupid movie with hardly a moment of down time. It keeps jumping between exciting events and is really fast paced.
