nobody can ever convince me this is a bad movie, because as a teen I was watching lots of gore/fake snuff movies and feeling super proud of how edgy I was, even literally jerking off to the Traces of Death tapes just so I could brag about how fucked up I was. Then Salo just made me feel terrible and I stopped doing all that shit.

It has more of a point than most "extreme" movies. But I can't say I enjoyed watching it.
Pasolini's other movies like The Gospel According to St. Matthew, Mama Roma, Accattone, Porcile and Medea are better than this, Salo is just the notorious one because it features more extreme content so it became one of those 'disturbing horror movies' in the horror movie icebergs or whatever the cunting fuck that is. But it is a good movie.
