Then the parents believe the teachers, recognising their authority. From there it's a cascading effect of people adopting the consensus view and not wanting to be the only one who is not conforming to the dominant narrative etc. Which is what makes it a nightmarish scenario, the fact that it's completely believable. On a side note, Vinterberg's movies are pretty good, I have seen this one, the alcohol movie, and last night I watched The Celebration which was pure kino.

Just be forewarned, it is a depressing arthouse type of movie, not in line tonally with Another Round for example. Although it does have some dark humour and amusing frivolous moments, it isn't completely grim, and it is well structured in a way where you won't get bored like in some other experimental movies.
