Movie looks like shit and film is a visual medium. It dose'nt matter if you film the entire movie on imax cameras if you jave no real visual style. I mean Nolan does have a "style" but I woukd define it as very clean and clinical. His Gotham city just being Chicago is the perfect example. Compare his films with the visual style of The Batman, and you'll see what a director with an actual artistic vision can do with the same source material.
I think Troy is a better looking film than the odyssey. Nolan is like hyper realistic video games with no artistic direction compared to like a project with strong art direction and identity. His films just feel hollow, like if you told AI to make a competent well directed film, but it had no soul or style.
