Denis Villeneuve is rolling the dice. Dune 3 appears to relie on Chani being the window/frame into the story. He has not invested enough time into her for us to like her enough to make that work. The trailers seem like there is time skips so maybe half the movie is going back to get invested in them as a couple but well see.
