There was a really good episode of Batman Beyond I just watched that was written well with a deeper message but it wasn't at all difficult to follow.It was about the newest foe using a PED to gain an advantage in sports, and how he actually was stronger than Batman when they fought. But then it also showed him tired at school, itchy when he couldn't speak to his dealer, et cetera. Obviously a deeper message on substance abuse and temporary fixes to bigger problems, but it wasn't some convoluted Ingmar Bergman trying to be smart level problem. It was well written and with a good eye easy to spot
