Why is it that those ancient, conscious and wise drgons need a rider in order to get anything done?
In the finale, when ulf was burning the blacks, two friendly dragons including Caraxes were on there on the hills somewhere, surely they knew which were their men and which town they were there to conquer. Yet they never took flight untill their respective rider came back.
