I still don't get what the motivation was for Peter Billingsley to do this was. He didn't seem to have much of a character at all and was just kind of along for the ride. Such a weird arc (no pun intended) considering his character in '08 was arguably sympathetic, being forced into working for Iron Monger.I don't even remember if they explained why he was supposedly resentful of Tony Stark.

Jacksonbut the worst part is how every character is just stupid. Peter gets a bit of a break because his ignorance is out of desire. He's subconsciously looking for a way out. Everybody else? The backstory for Mysterio? His being there? The Elementals? The aforementioned classmates/faculty? It's just really tiring to sit through two and a half hours and in the end, who wins? Literal fucking retards who act like they're parodies from Scary Movie. I'm surprised Shaq never showed up in any of these films, they're written so fucking stupidly, just from a tonal perspective.Not to mention there's never anything on the line. That's arguably the biggest problem. There's nothing really at stake in the movie, except the vaguely established and highly forced relationship between the titular character and Not-MJ, but MJ loves Peter unconditionally, like a literal mutt. So... where's the tension? Where's the drama? The entire runtime, when it's not showing awful comedic filler, and it shows that A LOT, is just Peter being afraid of rejection he will never experience because the movie takes no risks and sets no real hurdle(s) for its MC. It's just the illusion of drama, ironically.What little it does do is just the same exact shit from Homecoming. May as well have titled the movie>It Happened: Again: European EditionBecause that's all it is.
