This is going to bomb and get the DCU shitcanned, isn't it?
>>

Two more weeks!

The first movie already underperformed and sold less tickets than Man of Steel domestically (let alone internationally)

It's over

james gunn and his non-white casting couch sluts that /tv/hindus simp for: the movie

DC is punk rock its not supposed to be popular you wouldn't get it.

This shit is one step above a CW series.
>>
Gunn should have just adapted weird side shit like Red Son instead of being charge of a mainstream cinematic universe. It was never a fit for him.

CW series have a bunch of hot chicks in them so I'd say it's one step below

tickets are also 3 times more expensive and movie theaters don't have incentives like $5 matinees or theater hopping anymore.

Poor kid from About A Boy. He’s playing a thin egghead nerd in a super suit? Oh, Lex. Hoult looks so embarrassed here. And why is the new Superman ugly? His mid face and lower third are disgusting.

It literally made less even without adjusting for inflation. If we did Man of Steel raped it until blood ran down its legs
>>
>>222508029
It won’t make a billion. No Superman movie has ever made an actual billion. Superman hasn’t been popular in decades and DC just needs to stop pretending he ever will be again

Is Spiderverse really the same audience as Superman though--one is animated and only certain segments of the superhero audience go for animation

Does James gunn know there are other heroes in DC?
>>
Classic Superman is a relic of the past. You can still be kind and cool. He's just on the same tier as Rocketman and Rocketgirl and shit. He borders on corny.

Now, if you did Superboy Prime...that would be something. That movie could make some money with good marketing and a passionate team behind it. Do something starting with him accidentally blitzing one of the golden age people and discovering heroism through redemption or something. That could be cool.
>>
>>222508100
It didn't. Want to know what made more money than both in a couple of days? Hint: The main character is a super hero wearing red and blue and has "man" in his name
>>
>>222508545
>I said something dumb because I'm dumb

btw, if you account for inflation Spiderman BND's opening weekend was only $30 million more than No Way Home's.

>cancel the original plan because they don't want to be different than the MCU
>MCU turns to shit a few years later after Endgame
>they had a window to develop their DCU during the worst time of the MCU
>decide to go with Gunn the retard to reboot it
>no one cares and after 6 years, the MCU will finally get back some momentum thanks to the X-Men
Shit is just too funny to be honest.
>>
>>222508170
DC should try to adapt single stories like that, some mainstream, some elseworlds, etc. Their characters work well as standalone, instead of trying to cram everything together, they should just embrace it. Get top directors pitch their Supermen, Batmen, Green Lanterns movies and have a different version altogether every 2 years. Some will flop, some will become hits though and at least there is renewal.

Modern writers only portray those qualities as some muliebrity foppish queer who is more whiny than he is actually kind. Most people working in Hollywood are far too detached to write something that sincere

I don't know how it works but "Hollywood" seems to be immune to repercussions for failure or even successive failures. Their are so many Executives, producers, directors and IP's that by any other standard or means of judgement would have been put into the trash years ago.

>>
>>222509673
You are doing a remarkably poor job at explaining what your position even is. It seems a lot like you think it invalidates my point that there are literally any scenes of Snyderman smiling.

If the new James Bond came out and it was mostly conventional spy adventure but in a few scenes he eats the flesh of a henchman, people would mostly talk about and remember the second bit. Do you see what I mean?
>>
>>222508029
I might be interested in this if it was just Supe, Lex, and Brainiac but even flops like Supergirl and Blue Beetle on top of a gorillion B-list superheroes? Get the fuck out of here.
>>
>>222508073

Difference is nobody liked MOS while Gunn Superman was broadly liked.

Second one will probably do around the same or a little better off positive word of mouth.
>>
>>222509375
Considering how the first movie was with every scene getting punctuated with loldoggo!, I fully expect him to be standing over Supes with a kryptonite weapon just like in the Martha scene, and then Krypto pees on him and his suit shorts out

we NEED to force more womeme superheros in this
just make them brown so wimpy white, brown and black simps watch the movie
>>
>>222509689
Didn't he fund that himself. That's where he fucked up, he tried to go around Hollywood.
>>
>>222508592
You could honestly just write him like Captain America in the MCU and you’re like 80% there. My main problem with both MoS and the Gunn Superman is neither of them feel like mature adults, they both seem in some ways immature and impulsive, fine for an early arc of Superman I guess, but just make him a responsible seeming adult again.
>>
>>222508029
It's unbelievable that Gunn still refused to make a better costume. He's just being belligerent at this point.
>>
>>222508152
That's a good point. I was getting that vibe while watching it. Well, the later shows. The early shows tried to be serious (while lighthearted) and made sure you know and care about the characters. The movie is terribly unserious to the extent that it feels like nothing matters.
>>
>>222509585
That's stupid. Lex is a genius and Trump is a retard. He just happen to be the result of a system that allow billionaires to always fall upward and celebrity culture. The same things that benefit Gunn and his pedo friends
>>
>>222508849
Sauce please?

>>
>>222508029
Jewpermann has 0 appeal.
>>
>>222508029
Yes.

Critics and people forgave the first movie because they wanted to like Superman and DC again. I would compare Superman 2025 to Star Wars The Force Awkanes where people just wanted to like Star Wars again and ignored the faults.

Except Supergirl happened and pissed off ciritcs and audiences, being panned and bombing.

Now there is blood in the water and everyone can smell it.

Gunn no longer has the protection he did from critics and normies.

Unless he actually tries to make Man of Tomorrow good, then his DCU is dead.

>Is it even possible to do live action Superman right
It's easy but WB won't do it. Especially Gunn. Superman is best on TV first with a movie tie-in for a big event. It should closely resemble a comic book in the sense that you follow his adventures on a weekly basis and grow with him. Lois and Clark and Smallville got it right.

Meaningless phase.

Animated Series Peter is different from Raimi Peter, who is different from MCU Peter, who is different from Insomniac Peter.
