>>222509424>What was the point of this movieProbably the most anti-semitic American film ever made given it's essentially a polemic against post-WWII Jewish chauvinism and ethnonarcissism by a self-aware Jewish director that used to lurk here. If it were made by a gentile it would've been condemned for being comically racist, but luckily it was made a Jew and rightfully received all the praise and success it deserved for being an all-around excellent film that touched on a very taboo and timely subject.
It's about ambition and need to win, to prove yourself against a worthy opponent no matter the cost.
