Would you say that the MCU's Spider-Man movies are a good or bad representation of the character?

Bad, and some of it has to do with being a victim of being a third iteration in 15 years of the same character, and also to do with being in the MCU and having contractual obligations to infest each of his movies with other Marvel characters
>We have already seen his origin story with Uncle Ben 2 times so they don't show it and it's just assumed to have happened
>first movie appearance is in a Captain America movie and he gets a free high-tech suit from Stark
>Because MJ and Gwen have already been done before, they do a weird thing where they cast Zendaya as pseudo-MJ (Michelle Jones)
>First movie is about him being a sidekick to Iron Man and everything is given to him and the resolution is Peter declining to join the Avengers
>5 minutes later he is in an Avengers movie as an Avenger
>Second Spidey movie is a bizarre film set in different countries with an alien pretending to be Nick Fury and the death of Iron Man standing in for Uncle Ben
>Third Spidey Movie is a Multiverse movie with Doctor Strange and 2 other Spidermen
>Uncle Ben is essentially retconned to never exist, meaning that Peter didn't have his essential origin story that made him Spider-Man and he has been operating the entire time without having essential lessons learnt that everyone assumed he did
>Third movie btw
>Fourth movie is about the Hulk, Black Widow and the Punisher with an X-Men character as the villain

don't forget they changed Jean Grey's power from telekenesis to "possession"

>good or bad representation
bad. Go to the Raimi movies for the real thing.

>>Fourth movie is about the Hulk, Black Widow and the Punisher
That's just disingenuous. Black Widow's role is barely more than a cameo, and the Hulk and Punisher are very much supporting characters with only a few minutes of screentime each. If you were going to say this about any character it would be Jean, who does sort of steal the show in the last act, but she's the antagonist so it's expected she has a bigger role. Whether or not she was a good choice for the antagonist is up for debate but meh.

I would say the Homecoming trilogy was not a great representation of Spider-Man, but Brand New Day absolutely is, and honestly the way it uses other Marvel characters is part of that. Spider-Man's relationships to other heroes is a big part of his character in the comics, and the way BND uses the Hulk and Punisher etc is very much like a comic book where they don't steal the spotlight, but just make it feel like Spidey inhabits a universe populated by other heroes who he occasionally crosses paths with.

Hollandman is really bad.
>Uncle Ben barely touched on, I get they don't want to shoot him for the third time but his influence is still important, what was motivating this Peter to be so good before Aunt May's death
>Iron Boy is a very serious problem with this Spider-Man
>no edge, Comic Peter can be an asshole but only Garfieldman really tried to capture this
>No Way Home is nostalgia pandering that might have permanently fucked the character because it will be really awkward to introduce MCU Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius if Peter already knows they're bad
>4th movie FINALLY tries to capture Peter Parker but it's muddled by mutie trash with Scarlet Witch 2.0
This version of Peter is carried by the actor. People really like Holland, he's likable. Compare his Spider-Man to comic Peter or 1994 cartoon Peter though and it falls apart really fast.

It's even more hilarious that each MCU SM movie is in their own rights reactionary projects based on the MCU's needs and wants and their agreements and contrivances with Sony. Like in the case of the 3rd movie, it was a blatant copy of Sony's Spider-Verse and was a way to undermine that project as well as capitalize on its popularity.

Why Mary Jane is from Wakanda in this Universe?

Why did they have to market the 4th movie towards women?

There is more than one girl named Mary Jane in new york city

Uncle Ben doesn't exist in this universe and it's basically confirmed when we don't see his tombstone alongside hers
