Leaves a little more room for all manner of shit and actual filmmaking when fags are given a camera and limited budget.Prototype (1983) starring Christopher Plummer and David Morse is as quirky as its casting. 'Slow-burn' doesn't quite describe how glacial the pace of this thing is or how ironically mechanical the dialogue, yet I found it strangely pleasant to watch. It's your typical Twilight Zone sci-fi concept stretched to movie length with a kinda interesting 'le twist' in literally the last five minutes.Not sure I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't have the patience of a saint, or a particular interest in the writers/actors, old skool AI/robuts, or sci-fi history. I always liked David Morse, the guy has a unique chillax ultra nice-guy-in-a-good-way aura, so was interested in seeing him play an 80's robut.One thing I liked is how all the characters act relatively polite, reasonable, and with the best intentions, even when they disagree with each other. Makes Plummer's character stand out more as a bit of a crochety fuck but he's still not a bad guy. None of them are. There are no villains or anyone that's totally wrong, which makes it a little deeper than it seems.

Sole Survivor (1970) TV . Fresh off the cancellation of star trek shatner does a very good tv movie about the investigation of a missing WWII planes wreckage found in the desert. Its very much like a long twilight zone episode which did a similar episode.

the golden age of made for broadcast tv movies was probably the 70s to around 1985. There was all quiet on the western front with ernest borgnine and the guy from the waltons in 1979. Quite a good updated version of the hollywood movie from the 30s.
