Rosa's main problems were that Disney forced the US publisher he worked for (Gladstone) in the early 90s to keep the original art for his stories, which he was intending to sell off to fans to make ends meet. He liquidated his family construction business to pursue his childhood dream of drawing Scrooge comics, so losing out on a substantial part of his income over Disney's whims soured the relationship ship so much he decided to quit. He then found out that Duck comics were still huge in Europe, and started working for European publishers who allowed him to keep his art. But he still got super flustered over the European publishers recoloring his comics wrong, and doing shoddy translations that altered the content of his stories. This ultimately made him quit the business in 2006. The latest issue is Disney issuing a ban on two of his stories to all publishers, without citing a reason. People assume it's to do with the depiction of African natives, but thats only speculation.
