Matt Damon
>>222525160>Matt DamonMatt Damon
>>222525160Man he really hit the wall.
>>222525307His age collapsed
This scene was the best in the whole movie, actually. At least it was in the theatre, sound has a lot to do with how good it was.
>>222525304Matt Damon.
he was chinese, Matt Damon?
>>222525359what a fag
>>222525346Agree, even though the message was retarded and wouldn't bring someone to convulse like this, especially a hero with so much pride
>>222525307you wait forever and then one day you're 20 and the whole world is ahead of you, the next day you're 30 and the sun is almost down, the next day you're 40 and its dark out and you realize humans are like mayflies that live this little spit of time.
>>222525346>>222525419yeah but >imma do it for the lolsi thought this motivation was kinda weird
>>222525419Yeah but the Sirens song is supernatural and it's a lot more interesting and relatable than the general idea of it being a beauty so great it makes you want to abandon everything or even kill yourself for it.
>>222525464Typical Greek myth trope. Guy wants to do shit nobody else has done because he can. Like Perseus or Hercules.
>>222525160Datt Mamon
>>222525464>>222525466Sirens were so much cooler in Homer's version
>>222525600those do not look cool, lol
>>222525600> SirensHarpies?
>>222525600This just wouldn't fit Nolans style. The only depiction I have a problem with are those weird metal people who are supposed to be the Laestrygonians. They should have just gone with big regular guys in tunics throwing huge boulders at the ships.
>>222525396Yes, he's part of the Film Actor's Guild.
>>222525703Mermaids, Sirens, Harpies, all the same figure. They're cannibaal's and intertwined with everything occult, just like virtually everything Odysseus encountered.
>>222525160A better performance than Heat Legend Joker, they said
>>222525811ah just like all women
It was the delicious itch you go to scratch, and you find it is under the skin, so you cannot reach it.So the delicious itch becomes unbearable. It told you what you most want, is what you most can’t have. And what you most can’t have, is what you already had, and lost. It was the song of all the promises I failed to keep. And it told me, I don’t really want to go home.
>>222525770>Nolan's style
>>222525953Yeah I just didn't give a fuck about this casting. She's such a minor character.
>>222525953both look way off, in fact Hunter Schafer's face is the closest to that statue lel
>>222525994>Nolan's style
>>222526044I didn't care for this either. Odysseus and Penelope are the focuses of the story. Athena in this instance only had a singular role which was to guide Odysseus out from his experiences in the Trojan War.
>>222526097>Nolan's style
>>222525994>Making Helen of Troy, who was so beautiful she started a war, a nigger with a twin which completely desecrates the entire point of the story is unimportant to me, an intellectual>>222526097>Odysseus and Penelope are the focuses of the story even though Athena has more screentime than Penelope and I'm a gay retard
>>222526171You haven't watched the film, have you? If you think Athena got more screen time than Penelope then I know you haven't seen it.
>>222525600Beware the harpies song.
>>222525160HECTOOR
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Vyj1C8ogtE#t=30s
>>222525307In this movie I thought he actually did a pretty good job of looking 30-something in some scenes and 50-something in others. Some of that is makeup and styling of course, some of it is also him being in good shape for his age
>>222525304Matt Damon!!!
>>222525330underrated
>>222525506the problem was matt damon's odysseus was kind of boring and gay. it seemed out of character that he wanted to do any of the things he did at all
>>222526044Zendaya as Athena was the one that really felt jarring to me when watching the movie. It was just awful.
>>222525770I liked the depiction of the Laestrygonians as being insular and hostile as fuck to any perceived intrusion, yet still a relatively advanced civilization, as evidenced by their armor. Just because you're a giant doesn't mean you have to be primitive and dress like a caveman
>>222525330kek, nice one
>>222525160>Your clever hero, a guilt ridden shell shocked pussy
>>222527210>Just because you're a giant doesn't mean you have to be primitive and dress like a cavemanThey literally just chop and beat the ships apart though. They still acted like cavemen, except now they have cheap ass ren faire armor that just looks like plasticIt's like the worst of both
How bout D's apples
That pig transformation scene was very freaky. I liked that depiction.
>>222525359It wasn't supposed to be a documentary
>>222525994>Nolan's style>Oh, I don't care his casting tholmao holy fuck you're a disingenuous retard
>>222527280The casting was clearly orchestrated by means of safe betting and risk minimalisation. It is arguably the most disappointing area of the film. There are few outstanding acting scenes in the movie but nothing about it was offensive to me. Matt was fine. Tom was fine. It didn't ruin the movie.
>>222527241imagine if Nolan made a biopic of someone like pic related
>>222527349
>>222527247>cheap ass ren faire armor that just looks like plasticIt's kind of subjective but I don't see it as cheap. More like it being much more curved and contoured to the body that way vs the plate armor any real humans produced means there's something more advanced and/or supernatural about their metalworking ability
>>222525160>NO NOOOO NOT THE BRONZE! AHHHH ITS IN MY EYES! MY EYEEEEEEES!!!!
>>222527272Yeah, it was one of the highlights of the movie. Even if I feel like Circe should have been a sexy witch instead of a hag.
>>222527149Every time I saw her ugly nigger face, or Travis Scott or the Punisher saying look at my beautiful nigger of troy wife, my immersion was completely ruined
>>222527210Both good points, but unless you read Homer's work you would have no idea wtf is going on, which is just shitty directing from Nolan
>>222525160>WE MINORLY VIOLATED GUEST RIGHTS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Nolan undercuts this movie with the editing. It's the same thing he did with Oppenheimer. It's like he doesn't trust the audience to sit through protracted dialogue. Stop having these scenes as flashback and let dialogue play out.
>>222527804Dialogue is just code for "looking at my phone because nothing is happening"
>>222525330It petered out. It died on the vine.
Matt Damon?
>>222527725>shitty directing Or maybe it's a valid writing choice, for the viewer to have the same amount of information as the men stepping foot into uncharted territory. All they know is that there's a new threat to run away from
>>222527804>>222527821It's supposed to be dream like. Odysseus is recollecting his memories.
>Matt Damon
>>222525160That's what he gets for doin' a genocide.
Be honest; would you watch it?
>>222530905Can't be worse than the original
>>222530905>no AICould be worse
>>222527210Just because you're hostile doesn't mean you have to till the land and chop wood in full plate armor.
