Lucy should've been raped by the legion.

Never watched it but now I feel like playing one of the games. I think I'll load up whatever my last save of 4 is and see what retarded settlements I built.

They were actually going to rape her until she revealed that she fucked her cousin
That gave them so much of an ick that they just crucified her instead

most shows nowadays are made in such a way that you only have to 40% pay attention to it as most people just browse their phones and/or keep it on a second monitor. its an actual noted thing within the writing rooms of a lot of these modern shows.

The most annoying thing about Bethesda's Fallouts is that they have some genuinely good concepts behind them, Bethesda is just far too shitty to make anything competent out of them. It's genuinely infuriating. DC and Boston were both great picks with lots of potential.

>repeating the same process that lead to the end of the world
>rotten to the bone "democracy" ruled by corrupt self-serving politicians and robber barons
>who wipe out the competition by threatening and then killing them (see the entire crimson caravan questline)
>sustaining itself on endless imperialist projects that don't benefit anyone except those at the top
>incompetent military leadership that constantly gets their own soldiers killed and blatantly rewards favouritism instead of merit
>who can only succeed by the courier's direct intervention, which then leads to quicker collapse because none of the underlying issues are addressed at all, and are instead emboldened

>I think someone who actually knows what PKD’s books were about could make Nate into a very special character
They sort of tried that with Far Harbour but it was half-assed because the base game's story is so shitty.
>>
>>222527258
You're right except for Fallout 1. New Vegas unfortunately does this. Fallout 1 is still the most serious in the series and also has the best atmosphere. It's sad.

The first season is alright, the second season is really bad with annoying plot contrivances, and a ridiculous amount of subplots which prevent there from being really any meaningful plot movement in any given episode.

And, if you are a big fan of the games, the show is incredibly disappointing.
Amazon's 'Fallout,' is not a show set in the Fallout universe, it's a show about 'Fallout' like very broadly.
So instead of actually caring about the games lore and stories, following up on what previous games have world-built, the show just crams in as much random iconography as they can and makes a really confusing and bland story which feels forced to jam in as many iconic Fallout things as possible in one narrative.

I couldn't finish Season 2.
I was watching it with a friend and I was just way too annoyed about how the show dumbed down and made worse all of the interesting factions and setting of the games.

Oh I forgot how the second season also constantly throws in these terrible jokes which destroy the tension.
Like, sure, the Fallout games have plenty of humor - but not when they are trying to be serious. The humor and the intense plot stuff are kept separate as they should be.

The second season also introduces this really powerful, I guess in the show he's a villain, who instead of using his resources to get what he wants done through intermediaries (which would be in character) personally goes around killing people and spying on randos in men's bathrooms.

NTA but Fallout 3 is actually one of the best RPGs Bethesda has ever created. There is so much roleplay potential if you see past the bad storyline, which is an issue in all Bethesda games since Morrowind. But chuds just hate on it because it was a remake of a cult classic that tried to appeal to a mainstream audience.
Obviously NV mogs but Fallout 3 is comfy and gets far too much hate, especially for what came after it in terms of Bethesda Fallout.
>>
>>222526802
I'll never watch this show again after they had Lucy lecture the legion about how they were pronouncing "Caesar" wrong
The writers of this show are fucking morons
>>
>turning Fallout into a wacky comedy
No. How can I, as a viewer, take it seriously when the writers can't?
>>
>>222533884
>There is so much roleplay potential if you see past the bad storyline
Ahh yes, you can roleplay as Good Guy. Or Bad Guy.
>>
>>222534516
FO was a dark comedy since the first game zoom zoom.
>>
>>222528688
As overrated as it is, it's not entirely without merit.
>Fallout 3
I had fun running around the wasteland and finding shit. Did most of the quests mainly for the XP and gear, tried to ignore the writing. Once I was done with it I couldn't imagine playing it ever again. Stalled halfway into Point Lookout, never touched Mothership Zeta.
>Fallout 4
The Horizon overhaul mod turns it into an autistic survival scavenging game and expands greatly on the character progression and base building aspects. It's so fun and rewarding that over the years I've put more than a thousand hours into the game without ever completing the main storyline. Would never play unmodded again, though.
>Bonus round: NV
Obviously narratively and aesthetically the best of the three. Finished it + DLCs twice, liked it, will never play it again largely because it's just as jank as FO3. I don't want to subject myself to either game's excessively clunky gameplay for one more minute.

For some people, the promise of the Bethesda explore -> kill -> loot cycle is enough, and the writing is so inconsequential that you might just ignore it altogether.
>>
>>222528688
The Bethesda RPGs offer gameplay that nothing else but Cyberpunk has even attempted. There are no other AAA RPGs where you can just walk out of the tutorial and starting going wherever and talking to whoever. The writing is mediocre to bad and the combat is just bad, but it does allow a very high degree of freedom.
>>
>>222526802
First series was lukewarm, but pretty subversive and very obviously made by millennial faggots who “love fallout!” Aka played fallout 3/4 maybe some tranvegas and think its about le heckin capitalism. Goggins performance was okay, effects were shit.

Second season was extremely shit Redditor trash that took everything fun with the first season and got rid of it, then they flanderised everyone, added fanservice while also raping the lore (thanks spiteful todd) then shovelling in niggers and women in every facet of every story.
>>
>>222535041
>AAA
Completely meaningless distinction. Starfield is "AAA" despite being a broken shitty scam while Kingdom Come Deliverance (the first one) is "indie" despite offering a richer open world and much better game in general.
>>
>>222534952
The games had comedic moments. It wasn't one long joke. The writers of the show don't care about tone.
>>
>>222535102
My point is that almost no games even attempt the degree of freedom you get in Bethesda games, which is why people like them. I only mentioned AAA because only games of that budget can make games of the scope and fidelity.
KCD cost ~36 million to make.
>>
>>222535310
>KCD cost ~36 million to make.
Yeah and it's better free open world than the AAA Bethesda title with $400M budget (Starfield). You can even compare modern Ubishits like Far Cry and Asscreed to what Bethesda makes. The worlds are very open but the game is very shit.
>>
>>222534830
Nta but yeah, that's why the karma system is there, compare that to F4, which eliminated the karma system in favor of bootleg reputation system. NV had karma and reputation system.
>>
>>222532817
F3 is unique because Bethesda never attempted to create another game like it. Skyrim was more simplified than Oblivion and F4 feels more like a soft reboot than a proper sequel, even the aesthetic and feeling of Adamowicz was completely removed.
F3 had a solid formula that could be improved, which is exactly what Obsidian did with NV.
