What went wrong with modern lighting?
>>

You're just an unc. Go start a senpai or smth
>>

Orange street lighting was so fucking kino kids today wouldn't understand.

it should be dark at night
>>

>>can't see shit vs can see shit
Yes and it was a good thing, orange lightning makes the night more nighty, it emphasize the feeling of night, it improves the darkness.
>>
>>222527444
You can see just fine in the left pic you disingenuous fucking Canadian.
>>
>>222527409
They’re trying to turn people in zombies. They purposely used orange judged because they didn’t fuck with your Curriculum rhythm
>>
>>222527479
>less light polution
>less straining on the eyes
>doesn't disrupt surrounding wildlife as much
>better light dispersion in areas that aren't immediately under the lamp
>less sterile hospital look
You're literally a soulless hylic if you prefer cold lights.
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k73Tx6ILz30 the wire got it right
>>
>>222527569
That's what made, not only films better but life in general with warmer lighting. It was more than sufficient lighting, more like a torch or candle and not so simultaneously bright, cold and artificial. It was as if every street turned into the inside of a Walmart. Just ugly soulless scale.

Someone made a video essay about how Drive was essentially the last movie to have this kind of lighting and emphasis, because it was the last noir film to be made in a big American city before the change to LEDs. It was already mixed lighting then with some streets and sections already converted and the difference is so stark it's like Refn deliberately avoided the shitty new lighting and left it entirely out of the shot where possible.
>>
>Everything is LED lighting
>LED can be literally any color they want
>Always make them blazing sterile white or blue
What the FUCK did they mean by this?
>>
>>222527828
same thing that happened with headlights. cold lights = brightest and the government doesn't care that warm coppery light is better for your circadian rhythm and cognitive function
>>
>>222527828
They want the goyim to be uneasy for the sake of "safety" and technological progress.
>>
>>222527876
The goyim deserve nothing, in truth.

uh, no? we needed like 20 years of research by 12 teams across the world just to develop blue LED

You color the casing not the source.
>>
>>222527409
Previous coloured lights still gave the impression of night time, now it's like they want 24/7 daylight.
It'll fuck people's natural sleep capability in coming generations.
Which might actually be the goal; to accustom round the clock active hours so sleep feels less like a safe haven from the cage.
>>

Source?

>Which might actually be the goal; to accustom round the clock active hours so sleep feels less like a safe haven from the cage.
100% a major factor. All sorts of shops and business around the world are extending their opening hours to the point of reaching 24/7 working hours. Have to make the goycattle feel like night time isn't really night time if it just looks like the inside of a big store. Why sleep if you could be working under the same light instead?
>>
>>222528066
All sorts of practical skills are vanishing and getting replaced with bottom of the barrel digital bullshit because it's cheaper and needs less labor. We're long past the point where technical progress actively improves any aspect of society.

>>
>>222527444
night should be dark. This shit signals to your brain that it's daytime and wrecks your circadian rhythm. There's also a psychological effect making the environment sterile and uncomfortable.
>>
>>222527824
I fucking love Drive so much

Related, light pollution is a serious problem for the psyche of mankind. Not being able to see the stars at night makes people insane. Humans are not meant to see an inky abyss looming over them.
>>
>>222527444
>>222527479
fuck off, glowies
>>
>>222528089
Night used to feel like a hard border. Shops closed, streets emptied out, everything went orange and quiet and your brain understood it was time to stop being a little productivity bug. Now every petrol station and apartment block is lit like an interrogation room and people wonder why everyone is anxious and can’t sleep without melatonin.
>>
>>222529350
The contrast to places that aren't lit is also insane. With the mellow light it's easier to get used to the orange hue of everything and have a certain "night vision" but with these fucking flood lights it's like stepping into an office in the middle of the day and everything that isn't in the lit area is pure darkness.
>>
>>222529350
It also made the places that were open 24/7 unfathomably comfy.
>>
>>222529947
there are no "comfy" 24/7 places.
>>
>>222527800
yepp

Humans were not meant to do a lot of things. But ultimately it is our will to conquer nature.
>>
>>222527409
Lamp tech changed. They were not orange for our delight, it was just the cost benefit of the time.

Easier to decorate. Putting current furniture and tech in a room with that original scheme wouldn't work, which is why all these places are always full of old peoples shit. It would be like having a 1970s car but replacing all the lights with blue LEDs and putting in some big screen infotainment unit, it would all just look disgusting and out of place.

They're dying out an extreme rate, people have really noticed it since you don't end up with a bug covered windshield on road trips anymore. Pollution, insecticides and farming has had a dramatic effect on insect numbers.

we still have mostly orange lights here. i will cry the day our corner street light needs to be replaced
>>
My country varies them. Suburbs and streets have the orange style ones as do more rural freeways, but they go with white light for city streets and freeways that go through highly urban areas. What a lot of places don't realize is you can have those LEDs in orange but some places just chose not to for some reason, so at least my country did seem to go with it.
>>
Incandescent vs. fluorescent lights.

>>222528648
You can say the same shit about all the useless ass jobs that no longer exist because Industrial Revolution tech and onwards replaced them. You're being a retarded Luddite.
>We're long past the point where technical progress actively improves any aspect of society.
People who used to meander away in their cottage making linens for 12 hours a day said the same thing when the Spinning Jenny was invented because it ruined their livelihood. I'm not ignoring that that is a terrible thing to befall someone and their family, however it was an invention that ultimately improved the lives of millions of people from then onward. What is best for mankind ought to be what is best for all of us, ultimately. Of course if you are a childless KHV then you're only going to care about yourself.
>>
>>222527454
>>222531027
They redid the street lamps of a school I live close to years ago with LEDs. They missed one.
The school lights shut off to save power in the middle of the night and during summer these days. The survivor still works on the old schedule where the lights always stayed on at night.
It's old, so it cuts in and out. Every night, at least intermittently, that orange, fuzzy glow persists.
>>
>>222527444
You can't see shit with minisuns glowing all around. I guess a nigger like you benefits from hiding in the lack of contrast.
>>
>>222533150
>Needs to
It will be replaced sooner by public policy of a grifter wasting money to gain political clout.
