My country varies them. Suburbs and streets have the orange style ones as do more rural freeways, but they go with white light for city streets and freeways that go through highly urban areas. What a lot of places don't realize is you can have those LEDs in orange but some places just chose not to for some reason, so at least my country did seem to go with it.

The school lights shut off to save power in the middle of the night and during summer these days. The survivor still works on the old schedule where the lights always stayed on at night. It's old, so it cuts in and out. Every night, at least intermittently, that orange, fuzzy glow persists.
