Why isn't Peter Parker poor anymore? Is it no longer a part of his character in the modern comics?

He played the Spiderman at the beginning, his struggle arc.Garfield is fast and loose, he can make ends meet though.Holland played those two Spiderman versions already, he's now moved on to being independently wealthy, to a point.I was disappointed they didn't bring Jameson back and have Peter sell him pictures as a cover for being wealthy through other means.
