I finally have some free time from school & work to watch the new movies. I want to see The Odyssey in 70mm IMAX at AMC Lincoln Square, but the website suggests that every single 70mm IMAX non-handicap seat from today until September 8 is booked. I just don't believe it. It must be scalpers and other bullshit like that. I get that the movie is insanely popular, but completely booked with no seating gaps whatsoever for 2 straight months? Give me a break.

Anyway, any anons have any ideas on how I might be able to score a ticket for a good seat before the IMAX run ends? I imagine it might go until the Dune 3 release.

just keep refreshing the app like a schizo, especially the night before / morning of. people with A-list hoard reservations and drop them when they realize they don't actually want to sit through 3 hours of Nolan greeks at 10:45pm on a Tuesday.

also check like 30-60 mins before showtime, that's when cancelled holds sometimes pop back up. don't bother with the website, use the app. set alerts with one of those seat checker sites if they still work.

Lincoln Square 70mm is legitimately that deranged though. it's not even all scalpers, it's bugmen buying 6 showtimes "just in case" + tourists + Nolan cultists + NYc freaks. If you want a perfect middle seat opening weekend-ish you're probably fucked, but if you're flexible you can snipe one.

thanks, anon. I'll download the app and keep an eye out. I live in Nassau County so I can't just drop everything at a moment's notice, but maybe I can get a 3-4 hour lead time and make it work
thanks again

Are pop corn buckets shaped with Odyssey?

Just checked mine. One showing in 20 mins is 30 percent empty. 6pm. I think you've got scalpers where you are.

I want Odyssey

I just went tonight. Had to book almost a month before and because I entered the site when they were opening new days I think, luckily (only accepting good seats)
All said. It is not worth it. I would go to a normal cinema no problem, also probably sound will be not as loud
