Suppose the average person experiences between one and two violent situations in their life. Is desensitization supposed to make me react differently when that happens? Even if I were, let's say a bit more use in the situation because of my desensitization, it has no great impact on anything, being one day in a long life. If you want to be desensitized to violence, do some real violence. This isn't even simulator training, I think it has the exact opposite effect. If you see the world in these terms and get exposed to violence, your life is affected by the stress of violence even though none is actually occurring. Ditto for sex, we're going with "porn DESENSITIZES" because normal people are apparently peak sensitivity, and engaging in kink means you're desensitized to shame. As if that matters. Shame doesn't dictate people's desires. Porno creates sensitivity to sex and sexual expression.

People don't go flying backwards in slow motion when they get shot - if someone gets a bullet in the head they drop incredibly quick. It's fucking awkward and their bodies (especially their legs) often curl up in really weird ways.
