They make him an obnoxious fucking autistic redditor. But not Mike, Mike is fine with the time machine quote, not our favorite serial killer wholesome grandpa chungus.The philosophy of the modern audience is that Walt is completely unsympathetic and evil from fucking season 1 or 2 even before Jane (which is another can of worms, an obvious one where normalfags are concerned, but still don't get me started on how justified he was in letting Jane die) and at least by Better Call Saul it seems like they agreed with that. Also the entire ending of Better Call Saul is essentially giving a speech putting down Walt for his stupidity as a criminal. Granted Saul was instrumental but still.
