Anti-AI is the new "pro-tranny" for zoomers and alphies. Every gen needs a popular cause. For Gen X it was anti-authority. For Millennials, it was blacks, gays and trannies.

Preproduction seems like a good time to use AI. Ideal in fact. You don't even have to fire your concept artist, just give them a better idea of what you are talking about. Haven't artists always complained about clients being vague and requesting multiple revisions?

Concept and design phases are supposed to be where you're at your most creative and soulful

I'm not some huge anti-AI person but you should basically never use AI Slop for that phase as it will just cause everything to morph into the same thing over time and a lot of cool original art pieces will never be made

Directors have aways hate working with concept artists so it's not surprising.
