Are Marilyn Monroe movies worth watching? If so, which ones?
The Misfits = see 3 "icons" on their last legs. All about Eve, Some like it Hot are mandatory classics. Niagara is OK noir.
>>222536524Thanks anon, I will watch The Misfits.
>>222536470Good suggestions so far. I'd add Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (her breakthrough role and also the one that saw her typecast as the dumb blonde bombshell), The Prince and the Showgirl (with Olivier), Bus Stop (I don't personally like the story much and her leading man even less, but her acting is top notch). Ladies of the Chorus was her first starring role and is interesting mostly for how different she is from her later screen persona.
What the anons above said plus The River of No Return, Monkey Business and The Asphalt Jungle.
>>222536524>>222536642I 100% agree with The Misfits, terrific film with terrific actors by a terrific filmmaker, good ole John Huston. I would also add The Seven Year Itch, a really funny one by Billy Wilder. I saw it eons ago but I remember loving it, Monroe and Tom Ewell are just amazing in itIf you like The Misfits I would also reccommend The Asphalt Jungle, again by Huston. It's kind of a lopsided film, some parts are amazing while others are a little underwhelming, but overall I really liked it, and Marilyn has a small but memorable part it inBy the way, she'a barely in All About Eve as well, she only has one scene if I remember correctly
>>222536524it also inspired the name of the band the misfits
