It could only work if it had a fuck huge budget for the million explosions and bullet squibs on every surface. Each Metal Slug they gotta go after would be a ton of CGI. But hell if they can one and done it then I'd totally want them to do the 'story' of 3 where they defeat the enemy here and then they gotta blast off into space and do that whole sequence too.
