>In just the past month, Pattinson has been responsible for a pair of wildly viral memes pulled from two of the four movies in his 2026 slate. In the first, taken from his role as the sniveling suitor Antinous in “The Odyssey,” a cocky Pattinson yells for somebody to “get these beggars out of here!” A bootleg clip of the scene has spread across social media, used to mock cheap people who might mooch cigarettes, gum or even drugs. It’s also been weaponized to denigrate everything from Microsoft apps to the DC Extended Universe.

Why does 'The Odyssey' have such an incredible cultural impact even among Gen Z?
>>
Because it's a fine film with a few good and memorable scenes. The casting was obviously very commitee-based and safe but I still remember some of the scenes and liked them.

I too am enjoying this meme my fellow humans.

It feels like we as a culture are finally on the same page, like a return to monoculture, the idea of having a shared understanding and experience of culture with common reference points, values, and opportunities to connect.

I honestly think this is because the Odyssey was the only remotely interesting film out atm. People universally liked it because it's better than all the other repetitive samey factory made movies.

Never heard of it

Viral marketing presumably from his agency’s PR department
