its just chromecast.
i am not connecting my tv to the internet and i am not using its shitty software.
not that google isnt any better but the chromecast came with the stadia and ive been using it ever since as a casting device. its great and better than plex

All I have is 4TB of content on a NAS, a blu-ray copy of "The Book of Henry" and a 4K UHD copy of "I.T" Chapter 1.

I remember seeing a documentary about mutiple foriegn workers having to live in a room under a bridge and they were watching movies on cheap portable DVD players after they sent some money back home using Western Union. Documentary was probably from early 2010s.
