Some of these had an actual TV channel attached to them (Confidence Man, UDT, Hide, Cinderella at 2am) and had regular set broadcast schedules.
Family Matters I'm pretty sure started with 2 eps in the first week, then 1 a week from there. Not from Coupang Play but Made in Korea also staggered its last 2 eps so adjusting the schedule like this isn't so odd for an OTT platform.

For The Affair specifically, I am at least glad they paired up the first 4 eps. I think that makes sense given the structure of the first 3 eps anyway.

Still one thing that bothers me in the show is that the road between the two houses is entirely fake and in studio. I don't remember lot of kdramas pulling this kind of shit. While the rest of the production is pristine, this particular set looks hilariously fake, even worse when they try to add a car or a bike passing through at 0.1 mph to make it look more natural. Doesn't work, at all. Maybe it's on purpose, I don't know; either that or fire the production designer please.

for someone that doesn't watch romances almost at all, this wasn't bad and a nice change, it also had some action which i didn't know about until it appeared and the sequences were done very well. and it was more violent than expected. the FL was fucking stunning, the director clearly thought so too, so much face time. and her character development (which had to happen per the story) was well acted. the ML though, that fucking long fringe was the partly the offender, he had so little expression, microexpression, just pretty lacking. when you meet his colleague who also looks similar a big fringe, he seemed more commanding on screen than the ML, a shame. The villain was good, i wanted him to have a better ending but maybe this was for the best. the other love angle with the doc was frustrating and relatable but made for a nice side story. all the side characters were well acted and made for good advice or comic relief when needed. good production values, nice settings. a few nice shots in there too. 7.5/10

The Chaebol family did nothing wrong to Suzy, even if they scolded her. Good pay, daughter was super nice and friendly right until Suzy talked back in a mean way that made the chaebol daughter do a double take.

Point being - Suzy struck the first blow on them. This is good and not what I expected and I'm enjoying it.

I need Chinese kino recommendations. I only watched Pursuit of Jade but I loved it. The set designs or whatever the background furniture and stuff are called was super impressive. I'm a man so don't recommend me too much mishy mushy lovey dovey stuff. I like the ML and FL's relationship, but it shouldn't be the only thing in the show. I also like villainess manhwa/manga though so as long as the show isn't too female audience oriented, Im down to watch.

I didn't care for Pursuit of Jade so take these with a grain of salt.
For more "historical" romance, you can try The Double and/or Blossom (previous work from the Pursuit of Jade director, there's several others with similar titles so watch out). The Double is very OTT but fun if you can get into it.

Naksu and Uk only have eyes for each other the whole story. It's only part 2 that deserves legit criticism with the revisiting of an already dealt with triangle and unrequited love of the SML. Couple or Trouble (or Fantasy Couple as it was known at the time) was relatively recent when I first watched it and even then I had 0 interest in Sandglass.
