When did Cinema become so reddit?
I'm so glad I haven't seen any of these movies. It fills me with joy to know that everything I am supposedly missing out on is self-obsessed pseud trash made for people who think having a Letterboxd account means they're interesting.

I thought project hail mary was good despite the chungus stuff. the rest of those are all mediocre at best and have no idea why theyre put on any kind of pedestal . its like zoomers have never watched a movie before
>>222546365>4 6/10 movies are the most popular in the cultural zeitgeist So, same as it's always been?
>>222546365I didn't watch Hail Mary because it was reddit chungus shit, nor did I watch the Odyssey because it's soulless Hollywood slop.I liked Spiderman, but I would never go out of my way to defend a marvel movie.I think Obsession is overhated, though. Too many people are faggy culture warriors that just pick their opinions based on opposing their enemies. It's fucking gay when leftists do it, and it's also fucking gay when annoying contrarians do it. Obsession is an outlier among the movies in that list because it's the only one that isn't an ultra-corporate product. My standards for critisism change when I'm looking at a movie with a budget of 10mil vs a movie with a budget of 250mil.If someone spends 10mil, it's likely to be a directors actual artistic product. It may have flaws, but I can respect it as someone's vision. With a budget of 250mil, there's so much investment capital tied up in it that there's obviously going to be legions of hollywood pedophiles ensuring that it has all the correct propaganda, and that it appeals to a wide base of normie customers with lowest-common-denominator tastes. I don't gave a shit if it made a billion dollars, it made a billion dollars because it's a base product that appeals to sheepie normie retards.

My theory is the industry is ran by redditors and theater kids and the high cost to filmmaking have pretty much rooted out any subversive hardcore filmakers like Abel Ferrera and Gaspar Noe
