Unlike the first (and to a lesser extent 2 and 3) it is incredibly unconvincing. It was not thrilling or scary. The original especially was an excellent combination of horror and adventure with dinosaurs in one very compelling and believable package with a great sense of realism. This lacked all of that and was just terrible. I hated all the characters. The dinosaurs looked retarded and the special effects from the 1993 original were better. Not even a B-tier movie. Just horrible.

They are being hunted, there is no power. They scramble in confusion and desperation to figure out what to do and escape the Island. They are powerless being hunted and must rely on grit and luck to survive.This movie is somewhat similar which highlights exactly why it's so bad. It tries to copy the original but fails on every account and lacks every thing that made it so great. It's almost a parody of the original, it's so bad. If it wasn't a serious movie, it would be perceived as a satire of how bad the modern movie industry really is.
