I wouldve never believed you guys, but this was truly good. It had a weird Raimi feel to it, probbaly becasue of the almost hilarious posession subject.

But what hit me the most is that it isnt incel or chud coded at all. Every fucking character and theme can be traced back to a current modern zoomer archetype with all its shortcomings. And especially the women are getting alot of flak.

It's forced good

Came and went like a fart in an elevator
>muh box office
Everyone will acknowledge a fart in an elevator, it means nothing

0 cultural significance, 0 staying power, 0 influence

it was shit

I dont know, it has this cheap, amateurish quality to it. Felt like watching one of those 20 minute short films on youtube

Only saving grace were some unintentionally funny moments, it was kinda bad, you're right about the raimi feel though

Really? I thought they were supposed to be creepy/terrifying

It's decent. The production value is high and the One Wish Willow is a neat item and probably the thing most remembered from this movie, but I'm not so much into relationship drama and gore and more into straight up demonic terror in horror so it's not exactly my thing but I can see how some rate this very highly

>the average relationship feels like being with a demon

Heh, this movie is such a red pill, its crazy.

I was surprised by how much I liked it, I wasn't expecting it to lean so hard into the dark comedy aspect of it since nobody discussing it brought up how funny it was; I laughed at the film more than I was scared. I also appreciate that every character is a piece of shit, I thought it would go the easy route of making the main guy a creep but instead he's just a complete coward, which is a much more refreshing take. It works well, it's fun seeing all the friendgroup get killed because they're so hateable. Kinda hating all your friends captures the small town friendship feeling perfectly.

The director made comedy skits on YouTube so I'm sure it was intentional. Bear trying to open the door covered in duct tape is right out of the opening of the first episode of I Think You Should Leave.
