Yeah I checked it out after the hype. Only Inde's work is worth the time. Barker has POTENTIAL but the script still needs a few more rounds. Too much repeated phrases for that "zalpha realism", in theater it'd be sloppy bad writing to repeat too much going nowhere. Post-hipster zalpha hipsterism. Bear is too emotionally candid and vulnerable, usually incels aren't that in touch w/ their own feelings (=gay theater kid IOW.)

>>222549358Idk, I think Eddington has laughs at their expense collectively but it does portray the Sheriff and his wife as victims (particularly, as in most Aster films, the overbearing mother figure playing a huge role) as well as showing the mayor as knowingly indulging in lobbying in something that would be against the best interests of his constituents. Same with the kid who is a stand in for Kyle Rittenhouse, he’s a victim of powers and ideas and people beyond his own knowledge and reach. It is a bunch of centrist pandering imo but I respect it for trying something interesting, it also made me laugh out loud a few times
