The Recoms in Avatar are a cool idea, but it doesn't really make sense that they'd immediately go back to being enthusiastic mercenaries for the RDA. Realistically they'd have debilitating existential crises due to being replaceable clones in alien bodies, knowing that their actual selves are dead. It's not as if the cloning process preserves continuity of consciousness.

Frankly the series is full of plot holes like this

They were NPCs from the beginning.
>>
>>222553497
from their POV there is continuity. That's why no one cares being obliterated during teleportation. From the reassambled POV, they just left one place and are now in the other. Plus they are marines so they're incapable of thinking beyond their immediate experience. You could tell them the "real" them is dead and they'd say "but I did eat breakfast"

This.

>>222553497
Not really they were dead and now not
>>
>>222553588
Even if we accept that they’re so stupid they don’t even care that they are merely replicas, what motive do they have for going right back into the meat grinder?

But they're no longer "themselves", their "identities" were saved into a drive. Their just a body inhabited by a set of memories and there's probably some program making them act as they would based on those (like a built-in chatGPT)
>>
>>222553637
the same exact ones for going the first time? their memories of their entire lives wanting this? with added benefit of immortality as they acquire more experience and become better and better warriors? You don't think those idiots would get a kick out of that
>>
>>222553497
theyve been conditioned to follow orders bro
>>
>>222553637
They were presumably chosen for being special forces/elite, and those guys live for that shit, Valhalla and all
>>
>>222553722
I think the reality of the situation changes SIGNIFICANTLY if you are now an eight foot tall blue cat alien.
Personally I would go awol
>>
>>222553722
also I bet palantir is working on this technology right now and there's already five thousand jarheads volunteering for testing.
Israel collects semen from dead idf soldiers

neither does what jake goes through at the end of the first avatar movie, and it always bugged me they never explored this. jake and quaritch are both clones of dead guys.

Nah, that's through Eywa. It's his soul.

I haven’t watched it for a while but wasn’t his consciousness transferred through the fungus? Like the same mechanism as the Avatar machine

Other issues:
>helicopter windows penetrated by arrows
>amrita costing millions when the transit to Pandora alone surely costs trillions
>Avatar neural link operating remotely for no apparent reason
>>
>>222553637
You just need one dude there to call them a pussy if they seem to hesitate and the problem gets solved there. Call them a fag if they ever start pondering their existence. Niggercattle are really that pathetic

>helicopter windows penetrated by arrows

I guess Cameron would say that they are very big arrows shot from very big bows so they are like very strong but yeah I have never understood how they have technology to travel to another planet across the universe and they can't prevent that. But if you make humans too powerful then the Na'vi don't have a chance.
>>
>>222553497
If you want to understand, then play Soma. They'd stay fine hoping they would win the next coin toss and get back into a human body
>>
>>222554252
>>222554360
The arrows did not penetrate. They have a whole scene showing Quaritch laughing at the dumb blue monkeys shooting arrows bouncing off his helicopter windows. Jake teaches them to dive at high speed and shoot the arrows at specific angles to penetrate the glass. Try watching the movie next time instead of playing on your phone.
>>
>>222554631
that still doesn't make sense
>>
>>222554631
Where is the big difference? The arrows penetrated the glass of helicopters made by humans that can travel across the universe. I'm sure they can make some glass or plastic material strong enough so arrows can't penetrate them.

Reminder that cross-species attraction canonically exists in the Cameron-verse
>>
>>222555352
The first movie is literally about a marine falling in love with an alien girl wtf do you mean? It was already as canon as it gets

Why do "people" deny Avatar its artistic merits? As far as I'm concerned, it's one big and purely coincidentally ultra successful arthaus (experimental and symbolic) film.
>>
>>222556948
They are npcs that were told what to think and now regurgitate that same forced opinion forever more. They'll watch other films that are way worse but not throw the same tantrums about them
