The editor who worked with the Coens did a Q&A after the film and was asked about the run time. He said it’s one of the biggest strengths of that film and one of the biggest problems with modern movies. The whole introduction, even before we are introduced to Will Smith, is about 15 minutes if you include that fantastic title sequence. That’s the “longest” part of the whole film.
