I dislike the Jackson LOTR films, but mostly because I don't think they did the source material justice. A lot of the issues people had with the Hobbit films were already present in LOTR. There was also the fact that Jackson was clearly copying the Bakshi adaptation shot-for-shot in multiple places while claiming for the longest time he'd never even seen that film. If he'd been honest from the outset and just called it an homage, I wouldn't have held it against him, but I don't like the dishonesty.
