I thought because he was almost a Jedi, and because Qui-Gonn is the Jedi equivalent of a cool uncle, he was rebelling a bit.But then you see Anakin with a fresh boot camp cut, and you realise that nope, that’s how they do it for everyone. That’s what they think looks good. This will be the symbol of training in our monastic order. Yoda, Mace and the rest of the High Council wanted all Padawans to look like that.
