2 had some decent concepts but it seems like it was no executed well. It doesn't have all the spikes of entertainment the first season had. 3 started off good but was a mess by the end. I finished season 3 feeling like I got ripped off by the last few episodes. I can't remember another story falling apart as spectacularly as what they presented. I could barely make it through 1 episode of season 4. Treat True Detective like a 1 season show.
